Terms and Conditions of Use

Exclusion of liability
The information contained in our IIS has been put in by students or host families applying for an High School exchange program. We check the information carefully and cannot accept responsibility or liability for this information, its correctness, completeness or up-to-dateness. This also applies for the web pages to which IIS is linked directly or indirectly.Complaints can only be filed by specified queries. If data are not encrypted due to a technical problem, we cannot accept responsibility or liability for this. We will of course take the IIS from the net and repare the technical problem as soon as we realise it.

Copyright and trade mark rights
The layout and function of the system as well as the IIS program are trademarked by a copyright. The pages and their contents may not be copied without prior permission of the copyright holder. It is permitted to use the system by applying students and host families. German law applies to the conditions of use as well as to the services provided through the IIS, except where German law conflicts with international law.

Privacy and Data Protection Policy

Introduction
Thank you for visiting and using our IIS web system and for your interest in our company and services. Protecting your privacy is important to us. Therefore, your personal data are collected and used only in accordance with the regulations of the Federal Data Protection Act and other relevant data protection guidelines. Therefore we are able to guarantee that all incoming data are used only for the purpose specified.

Automatically stored data
The personally supplied data are stored for three years automatically when you apply through IIS and submit your data.

The use of cookies
In some areas PAX - Program of Academic Exchange will use so-called cookies to better tailor its services to your individual requirements when you visit our pages. Cookies are small text files that a webserver can send to your computer in order to identify it. These are used, for example, to control the connection during your visit on our web pages or to store settings. You can set your browser to inform you when cookies are used. Doing this you will always know about the use of cookies. All pages can also be viewed without cookies. You can use your browser settings to determine how and when cookies are used or prohibit them completely. PAX - Program of Academic Exchange assumes that you agree to the use of cookies when your browser settings permit this.

Collecting and processing personal data
Personal data such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address and your data from the Student Profile and HFA (Host Family Application) are only stored if you provide these voluntarily in the context of registration and applying through the IIS. Your data is only used for Student Exchange purposes in order to create an efficient way of fast communication between the different countries, offices, students, host families, travel agents, Schools and local coordinators. Your data will only be used for improving our services with your express permission. We will never sell your data to third parties or market them in any other way. The permission to use your data for improving our services can be revoked at any time.

Use of forms
If you contact us on IIS by using an online form we will use 256-bit SSL encryption where possible. You need an actual browser like Microsoft Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla or Netscape to use the SSL encryption. If a lock is displayed and the address of the IIS has the prefix "https://" then the connection is encrypted. If the data is not encrypted, this is due to a technical problem. In this case we cannot guarantee secure data transmission or assume liability.

Access to information
On request we will inform you in writing and in accordance with current legislation which personal data we hold on you. Moreover, we have the right to change incorrect data or to block access to or delete your data.

Security
The IIS uses the latest technical and organisational security measures in order to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or unauthorized access. Our security measures are kept up-to-date in accordance with the latest technological developments.

Children
We strongly recommend that parents and legal guardians monitor the online activities of their children. Children should not transmit personal data to us without express permission of their parents or guardians, because we do request personal data from students, collect these intentionally and pass them on to involved parties.
