Dear future host family,

My name is Romy, I started wanting to go on an exchange year a few, like 2 or 3, years ago and I already dreamed of living far away before that. The dream of going away got bigger and bigger so I did some research on how I can do it for at least a short period of time, it was alway clear for me that if I leave it would be the U.S.A, and now I'm here. It took much time to convince my parents to let me go but I finally did it.

A big part of them allowing me to go on an exchange year was that I'm very responsible and they can trust me.

I'm also a really optimistic person and have always been. My parents often tell me how I used to never cry when I was a baby and would smile 99% of the time. Another big part of my personality is that I love going on adventures, I'm always open to try things out which is why I love travelling.

One of my favorite people in the world is my little sister, she's not much younger than me so when we grew up we shared many friends and interests. I think leaving her is the hardest thing when I go to the U.S.A even though I don't easily get homesick. I also have a bigger sister. We're close but not as much because she doesn't have that much time due to school.

My hobbies mainly consist of dancing. I started dancing when I was 4 years old and i dance HipHop, Ballet and Lyrical/Showdance. Besides that I also love to draw and listen to music as both makes me feel calm or it's a good way to express emotions and let go of things. To my favorite artists count Harry Styles, Shawn Mendes, Louis Tomlinson and David Bowie.

For the time of my stay abroad I already wrote a small list of things that I want to do, it has a wide range, from small things like visiting Target to visiting many places in the U.S. One of my goals though is definetely gaining many new experiences and getting better at English.

Have a great day!

~Romy
