Dear American Family,Â
I am so excited to write you this letter. My name is Usmon. I am 16 years old. I am a student of 11th grade in high school. There are six people in my family including my parents, my two sisters, my brother, and I. My father works in a local NGO and my mother is a housewife. My older sister is a student at University, my little sister is 13 years old, and she goes to school. My older brother is 21 years old and he is a Computer Science student at University. I love to spend my time with my family a lot. Each time I spend time with my family, we explore new activities and embark on adventures together. Hence, our family delights in hiking, camping, and sharing picnics. Typically, my mom prepares delicious Tajik dishes, and we gather around the table to savor the moments. You should definitely experience my dad's barbeque-it's a treat! When I visit the USA, I'd be thrilled to cook for you some of our traditional dishes such as Oshi Palov, Mantu, and Qurutob.
In my family, I take on the responsibility of assisting my sister in her English language learning journey. I lend a hand to my mom with household chores, occasionally preparing meals for my siblings when our parents are away. Additionally, I enjoy contributing to my grandparents' gardening efforts. Being there for my family whenever they require my support is something I strive for.
I have a passion for soccer and currently play for the varsity team in my hometown. My aspiration is to continue honing my skills by joining soccer teams in the USA. Alongside my love for sports, I love reading adventure books, with "The Adventure of Robinsone Cruise" standing out as my current favorite. Additionally, I find joy in watching English movies as a means to enhance my language proficiency.
I have many friends inside and outside of my country. We enjoy hiking and spending our time together. Most of my friends prefer playing soccer, so we play it a lot and have warm discussions about our games after. Other times, when we are together, we like to discuss new things and it enables us to know each other very well.
My hometown is beautiful, it has got high mountains and very attractive places for tourists. It is famous around Tajikistan for its fruits and fresh air. The people are so nice and very hospitable here. I love this small town.
In the coming years, I have plans to pursue studies in Business Management and embark on my entrepreneurial journey. My aspirations extend beyond personal success-I aim to not only thrive as a businessman but also actively contribute to the growth and development of my community and country.
Living in a different environment, with a new family, attending a new school with a new educational system, and having new friends will be great experiences for me. I am happy that I can learn about the USA in origin, live in a host family, and share my culture with them. I cannot wait to meet you and start having adventures with you!
With Love: your Tajik son Usmon
