Dear American Family,

My name is Muhammad Hadi and I go by Hadi. And I am a 15 year old boy filled with great enthusiasm. My family consists of 5 members. A very loving and kind-hearted father who always keeps his children smiling. A mother who is strict on the outside but affectionate to the largest degree on the inside, making us the best versions of ourselves. An elder brother who is determined and extremely hardworking. A younger sister who possesses a very social and lively personality, making it fun to hang around with her. Lastly, there’s me. The middle child with huge aspirations, loads of responsibilities and a lot to prove.

As a family, we spend most of our time together. A normal day would usually start with me and my mom waking up early and offering our morning prayers. This is followed by us waking up my two siblings so that we are on time for school. At home, I also have certain responsibilities such as making sure my room is neat and tidy before I leave for school. Once back from school, I also have to be conscience that I complete all my assignments and projects before I enjoy my leisure time. Apart from this, I also help my sister with her school work and teach her stuff she needs help with. However, on times such as the weekend, me and my family do a ton of fun activities to spend quality time together. For example, we often go hiking, watch movies together, go out for dinner together once a month and absolutely love playing cricket and badminton at home.

At school, during any free class I get, I would first check if I have any work or assignment pending that is due and would try to complete it in the school library if there is any work. After I’m done, I would spend my remaining free time by talking with my friends and having a good laugh, or by playing volleyball and basketball in the school court in order to freshen up my mind. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I would stay back late at school in order to attend debate classes. This experience has dramatically improved my bank of knowledge and has aided me academically as well. Having gone to tens of debating tournaments and competitions has enabled the introverted version of myself to finally come out of his comfort zone and learn to socially interact with people. Resultantly, this has allowed me to make many new friends belonging from different schools which has broadened my social networking. The knowledge I learn from here has completely transformed the very standard of my speaking skills due to which I’d be pumped to give a public speech than be scared and shy away from doing so.

All these extracurriculars have also led me to find the perfect friend group. Most of my close friends are also part of the same school societies and activities as I am. This makes being a part of them an even better experience as we then have plenty to talk about. These are friends I’ve known for over 10 years and can trust then in any given circumstance. We share the same goals and aims, and look at things from a similar perspective. Meeting friends from other schools and cities has been such a blast because we’d have so much to share, hence interacting with all these people from different backgrounds and traditions has always been an integral part of my life.

My home city is known as the ‘Green City’ and I feel lucky to be living here. It is a large and absolutely majestic and diverse city. The lushy green hills, tall buildings and well planned green roads provide a serene and calm environment due to which it’s the second most beautiful city worldwide. Something I about the city I fancy is the unpredictable factor in the weather conditions which strikes a balance between hot and sunny, cold and rainy. A fun fact about the city is that it experiences all 4 seasons throughout the year.

Despite the sheer beauty of my city, pursuing my career here is a matter of grave concern. Talent and potential possessed by the youth is never really valued which is why I aspire to revolutionize the country. Although I will proceed with the field of Artificial Intelligence considering it will likely be the next step in technological advancement and human evolution; I hold passion in getting into the political sphere to achieve the status of head of state. This is because this way I can utilize the country’s talent and resources to transform it, in order to make it a better place to live in. a place where everyone can afford their fundamental necessities and justice is maintained. I have already started participating in Model United Nations sessions to get to know more about our foreign policy, affairs and our significance in the international community.

Getting an opportunity to go to the USA has been no less than a dream. I’ve always wanted to explore the diverse cultures and way of living of different people from different communities. This can finally enable me to gain exposure and learn about the American way of life so that I can educate myself, my family and my people about it as well. That way we can learn and implement to goods about the American social and economic structure in my own country to improve the standard of living for the average Pakistani which is ultimately my core aim. Lastly, I highly appreciate that you’ve taken out time to read my letter and I just can’t wait to live with you and tell you all there is to know about Pakistan!

Thank you.

Hadi
