Dear My future host family,

Hi, I'm Chae Young. I was born in Korea and currently live in China with my family. There are my parents and younger sister, and me in my family and we are all Korean. I had attended an international American school for 3 years in China and then transferred to a Korean international school, where I've been attending for 6 years. Living in China and experiencing diverse education and cultures in two international schools is a great opportunity for me. It helps me to have a dream to become an exchange student.

My family travels abroad in every school vacations. From these experiences, I've broaden my sight and view of the world through meeting many people and learning different languages, cultures, foods and religion. This helps me develop an open-minded attitude without prejudice towards others around the world.

Now, I want to introduce myself to you. I'm outgoing, very active, and enjoy outdoor activities. People describe me that I am sociable and friendly. I love to meet people, enjoy spending time with friends and trying and learning new things. And I am neat and organized, I try to balance academics and hobbies.

One of my hobbies is baking, which I often do on weekends. Sharing desserts made my own with my friends and family makes me happy. For sports, I love swimming and badminton. I am a player of school's badminton team. I think sports is not only a means of maintaining health but also building teamwork so I love it.

Another favorite hobby is playing the violin. I started it at the age of 7, now I am a member of school orchestra and a leader of violin. Playing the violin ignites my passion for music.

Among academic subjects, my favorite subject is science, particularly chemistry. I want to major in chemistry in the future and pursue a career related with that, then I will enjoy it so much.

I am excited about the experiences we'll have together during my exchange year! I hope this letter helps you to learn about me to feel friendly about me. I look forward to meeting my host family, sharing and learning from each other's cultures. See you soon.
