Dear host family,

Sawasdee kha! My name is Peppermint you can call me be Pepper, Mint or Peppermint, it's all my nicknames, but I prefer to call myself as "Pepper" I’m 16 years old from Thailand. In my family, we have 4 members including my father, my mother, my aunt and me. My parents own a business in processed seafoods industry. My family enjoys travelling together during weekends, exploring the beauty of our country’s nature. On Saturdays and Sundays, if our schedules allow, we like to engage in physical activities such as cycling, running, and exercising. As a part of my family, I am responsible for making my bed, sweeping the floor, operating the washing machine to clean clothes and raking leaves. At home, we also agree that I will go to bed each night before 11:00 p.m.

I would like to describe myself as an optimistic, funny and extroverted person. I often put a positive view on situations, making jokes and bringing levity to ameliorate the mood whenever I can. I am sociable and always up for a conversation with classmates when we have to work in a school project. I am a beginner level acoustic guitar player who has passion and deep love for rock and roll and metal songs. I have been enjoying art since I was three, having experience in drawing and painting both traditional and digital art. I have a genuine appreciation for visiting art exhibitions. My continuously practice in realistic and digital art leads me develop an attraction and love to it. I also enjoy reading novels and poetry, and finding myself having own blog to launch my future novel someday. I always balance my creative pursuits with regular strength training exercises every day and a healthy diet. I am currently planning to study for English and literature courses in the university level. My career goal is freelance work that can be done online such as novels translation and movies subtitling. I am determined to write a novel by myself and launch it on various platforms and publish it as a book, with the book cover art drawn by my own.

I have many friends at school and I have a group of 5 friends who I am really close to. We often hang out together at the nearby mall after school, we often sing together in karaoke booth, watch newly launched movies, eat whatever has a good promotion by the time. In class, I like Chinese class because I love to learn new language skills which help me get broader range of skills that can be applied to my future career. Now I am currently in Taekwondo club at my school because the other clubs are full. I always attend school events. Despite living far from my school, I ensure to make an effort to help my classmates in preparing props for school events which sometimes results in me returning home late at the evening twilight. To join school activities, it provided me opportunities to build stronger relationships with my classmates and also improved me to a more chance for supporting the community. 

When participating in a student exchange program, I expect to immerse myself in a new culture, develop my problem-solving skill, improve my language abilities under new environment of American society. I would like to expand my connection and build up relations with host family members as well as new friends. I love to learn more about ways of living in their daily lives. It would be my pleasure to be participated in various events and activities with my host family such as playing board games, singing karaoke, watching movies, and spending time cooking, for instance. I also like to share traditional music and dance with my new friends, conduct a new language exchange, where we can teach each other our native languages. If I have chance, I also like to cook some traditional Thai food for them to taste. I would love to watch sport events and competitions such as American football and basketball. I also like to go on a picnic in the park and enjoy other events and activities.
