Dear host family,
I am Alex. I live in northern Germany, and I am searching for a host family in the U.S. I really like to laugh and tell jokes. I have good humor and can better the mood in an instant. I am intelligent and sympathetic. I like to think a lot and loose myself often in my own thoughts. And I am good at adapting myself into new groups of people and make new friends. I like to tell fun facts and gather them wherever I go. I have a good understanding of the world and how it works. But I want to learn more. Whilst I am in the U.S. I want to learn about the American culture and the way of living. I want to learn about the U.S. ideals and the school system. I want to learn to be a world open person, that understands many points of views and can accept every opinion. And I want to learn to speak better English, but that is the least important reason why I am applying myself. I have good grades and want to continue with being good in school. I want to achieve that by practicing a lot. But practice is not everything. In my opinion, no one can grow to their full potential just by practicing. In my opinion, you got to experience things to be able to fully understand them. On that note, I want to experience the U.S. so that I can fully understand it and learn to work with it. I also plan on teaching other people about Germany the same way I want to learn about the U.S. I can cook German specialties, show pictures and tell tales. And I can help in the household as well. I am well-mannered and have good English language skills, so there should not be a language barrier. My hobbies include playing badminton in a club. I also take piano and society-dancing lessons on Friday evenings. I go to the gym every Tuesday and Thursday. I have a good relationship to my parents and my brother. We have family evenings every Tuesday evening. We eat dinner together, play board games, card games or just talk about our days. Due to my father having to work hard, we don´t have many evenings, where we all have time. That is the reason why the Tuesday evening i s almost holy in my household. I also have a very good relationship with both of grandmothers and my grandfather. We have many family functions where we all gather and enjoy out time together. My brother is really into computers and likes o develop code. I am not really into it and don´t understand much about it, but he tries to teach it to me. I am planning on doing something in the field of chemistry once I am older, but I am not sure whether I am going to do it or not. I want to live a happy long live and don´t want to waste any time, because everyone only has a limited amount of time, and we should handle our time with care.
I cannot wait to meet you,
Alexander
