My name is Maialen, I'm 15 and I live in a small town in the northern part of Spain. I'm a really hard working girl and I like having all my room but also my routine or plans organized. My mother language is Spanish but I also speak Basque really well. Apart from this, I also have a medium level of English and I am learning German. I had also learned some French when I was little but nowadays I don’t continue with it and I have forgotten most of it. I had also learned music and piano for a long time but as I did too many things I had to choose some and I had to give it up.

In my family we are 4 of us. My brother, who is older than me, and my parents. We live in a flat near my grandparents. We have a really good relationship with them and on weekends we usually go to have something or to make them a visit and play some cards. We also have a small dog with whom I really enjoy playing or going for a walk because it is really playful and lovely and it always wants me to throw the small ball and play. It is 5 months and was the birth present of my mom.

One of my biggest hobbies is my sport; rhythmic gymnastics. I practice it 3-4 days per week and I really enjoy doing it. I also like a lot watching soccer, mostly, when my team, Athletic club, plays. I also practice basque dances, which I really like as well. I also love hanging out with my friends and spending time with family. Finally, as most teenagers, I also like being with my phone and watching Tik Tok or social media and speaking with my friends by it.

I still don't know for sure what I want to do or be in the future. When I was little, I said that I wanted to be a teacher, but nowadays I think that I want to be an engineer but I still don’t know what kind of enginnery.I would also like to continue having relationships with my current friends. Obviously, I would also like to have my family and my own house.

During my stay abroad, obviously I want to continue with my studies, but apart from that, for me the most important part is living the experience. Meeting new people, making new friends, learning more about the American life and habits, etc.

My current passion is my Sport, rhythmic gymnastics. Not only because I love practicing it, but also because I love watching it. On the other hand, I also love the relationships I have made with people in my sport and the good vibes we all have. We also help each other a lot. In competitions for example, despite not competing, we go to see and support each other and we also help the coaches to make up the little girls.
