Dear my future host family,

My name is Mohamad lzz from Malaysia. For the time being, I am studying in a boarding school not really far from home. I am from a family of six with a Malay background. My family consists of my mother, my two older sisters, and my two older brothers. We always love and take care of each other, even after my father passed away a few months ago. We always do a lot of activities together, but the one I love the most is when we go out together every weekend. Sometimes, we go to a picnic at a beach on Sunday. There are also times when we go shopping at a mall, usually when we are preparing stuff for Eid. Back then, my late father would drive us to the destination. But now, my oldest brother is the one who is in charge of driving the car. Other than that, we also enjoy cooking together whenever we are free. I can't really cook but most of the time I will help my mother in the kitchen such as washing and cutting the ingredients. I always think that cooking together is one of the best ways to strengthen our relationship and bonding.

Since I am currently in a boarding school, I don't spend much time at home. But whenever I come back home from school, I am expected to help with the chores. In general, I would do the laundry, clean the house, and do the dishes. I try my best to help my mother whenever I can since I'm not at home most of the time. My job as the last child is not heavy, but I always do it the best that I can.

I have a really deep interest in foreign languages. At school, I choose French as my additional subject to learn. I'm known as the best student when it comes to foreign languages. Additionally, I'm also interested in learning other languages such as Korean and Spanish. Another thing that piqued my interest is drawing and arts. At the moment, I'm developing my skills in drawing semi-realistic human portraits. In my free time, I will randomly draw the face of someone near to me, the environment in my classroom, and probably the face of someone that I like. There are also times when my friends would ask me to draw their faces. I also have a strong passion for public speech. When I was 13, I joined a debating club in my school. I put so much dedication into the club. From that, I gained a lot of skills in speaking. I am also the school's representative for public speaking competitions since last year. Plus, I'm planning on joining a forum competition during my senior year. Sometimes, my teacher would ask me to recite a type of Malay poem called "Sajak" and "Syair" during a special school assembly.

I gained a lot of friends in middle school, and I would say they are very helpful whenever I need them. When we don't have anything to do in the evening, we would consider jogging around the school compound or doing some physical workout. I'm not really a fit person, so my friends will teach me exercises that I need to be fitter. At night, my friends from the religious committee and I will handle the religious activities in the school mosque. We will always make sure that the junior students don't make any loud noise or interrupt the others while the religious talk is going on. When the exam is around the corner, we will form a study group and discuss difficult topics such as Science, Maths, and History.

My family and I live in a suburban area with a calm atmosphere and beautiful scenery of green mountains. The people here are very hospitable and helpful to anyone in need.
Upon graduation, I plan to continue my studies in the field of law. I'm planning to continue my studies at the National University of Malaysia. My dream job is to be a lawyer, though I'm still deciding whether I should be a civil lawyer or a sharia lawyer. Since I have some experience in debating, I know that being a lawyer will be a good choice for me. My second choice of career would be a lecturer at a university. Education has been an important aspect of my life, therefore I want to be a lecturer to educate the future generation of Malaysia and provide a better future for the country.

For your information, I am a sociable and friendly person. I love to get to know about different people and cultures and helping others is what I love the most. Furthermore, I could introduce you to our lovely culture such as our food, traditional games, and beautiful art. Since I am active in traditional activities such as dance and martial arts, I can teach you a lot about Malay culture and traditions.

I am keen to explore the culture of America, taste the local delicacies, and make new friends. Joining this exchange program would be the best chance for me to explore more about different people in the world, thus expanding my knowledge about foreign cultures. Being a member of this program is a great opportunity for me to make my family proud, especially my parents, and to experience the American way of life. Through this program, I also expect to hone my survival skills.

With this letter, I hope I can sum up everything about myself and the things I'm willing to do. I hope that you are willing to accept me as your host child. I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,
lzz
