Hello,

I am Elias with a passion for new adventure and new experiences, I´m 16 years old and 5.10 feet tall. At home we speak both German and French.

I live with my parents and I´m the youngest one in a family of four. I have a big brother and we have a very good relationship. My mom, who is half French and half English is a very kind and loving person. My dad is German and self-employed  and has a quirky sense of humour. My parents work from home.

We live in a house in a little town. We had some rabbits but unfortunately never a dog, even though I really like them.

With my family, we have travelled in different countries (Europe, Thailand and the US). My grandparents on my mom´s side live in Lyon in France, my French grandfather is married to my Welsh grandmother. My other grandparents live in Germany in a little village.

In the summer I like going to a so-called “freibad” at bike distance of where I live; This is an open-air public swimming pool where I like to meet my friends after school. I like almost every sports related to water, like water-skiing, wake-boarding and especially surfing that I intend to improve. My aunt lives by the Atlantic seaside, where I like the big waves.

In the winter I love skiing, because I like the feeling of freedom when going down the mountain slopes. Another sport that I just tried is golf, I was lucky to have two lessons and I very much liked it and hope to get soon another opportunity, which is not so easy in Germany.

My hobbies: I play basketball in a local team, with games on the weekend. I am hoping to try other ball sports like American football or joining the basketball team. In my free time I usually dance to music by myself but I also did ballroom dancing courses (like many German teens), which ended in a kind of prom night that I very much enjoyed. My brother and I have always enjoyed doing impros and acting in self-created small films. I also attended a theater workshop ending with a play, that’s why I am hoping to attend a drama club course in high school.

I am also very interested in food, trying new dishes from different cultures, also experiencing in the kitchen and preparing new meals. I am also very keen on fashion and on trying new styles and combining clothes.

I have always enjoyed spending time outdoors, in the nature and I can imagine that hiking and camping in America must be a great adventure. I already went hiking in Sweden and Scotland for 2 weeks with a group of youngsters. I am also into fishing: I intend completing my fishing-license by the summer.

I´m looking forward to living a year in the USA. My brother did so 2 years ago and now I cannot wait to have my own experiences. I am very keen on learning more about the American culture, since I already visited some towns of the East Coast. I would describe myself as a cheerful and open-minded person, I am also use to basic household tasks (making my bed, laying and cleaning up the table…).  A host brother or sister would be very cool too.
