My name is Eider, I am 14 years’ old, and I live in a village in the north of Spain, close to the French border. My village is mostly suburban, with a large rural area; it has almost 8,000 inhabitants. We are really close to the seaside, and we have several beaches around us.

I live with my parents, my twin sister and my two older brothers. My mother is a teacher (infants, 0 to 6 years old) and my father is an telecommunications engineer. My older brothers  are studying at university away from home; both of them, engineering (telecommunications and civil, respectively). My twin sister and I enjoy spending time with her. I like spending time with my grandparents, as I really enjoy making all kinds of plans with them. If I could describe myself, I would describe me as “fond of my family”.

I am an open and funny young girl. I like being with people and making new friends. I find chatting easy, and I approach people without difficulty. I am also very responsible and respectful, with a helpful and accessible attitude. I am also loving with my family and close friends.

In my spare time, I like practicing sports in general, although I especially love playing soccer. I also love hanging out with my friends. When I hang out with my friends, we usually go to the parks near where we live with some candies we buy at a local store, and just talk about our things.

If I am at home, I like weaving (crochet); I have made blankets and small teddy bears. I like cooking as well, and I often prepare pizza for the family; I also enjoy baking cakes, but I do not do it so often. If I am alone, I like paining; I look for something I like in the Internet, and get inspiration from there.

My goals for this experience abroad are related to my goals in life. To be honest, it is not so often that I reflect on my goals in life. However, I have come to understand that my ambition is to be able to start my own family and be able to provide for them with a job I can enjoy. This is why I want to go to University and study a career I like. Although I do not have a clear enough idea on the career, I know I enjoy teaching kids. Thus, to get to understand what I like most, I believe I need to get new experiences, and this exchange program is a perfect way of getting that while mastering English.

I enjoy new experiences. I am eager to know a family that will enjoy a foreign student bringing a background that may not be known to them, and interested in taking advantage of all the new aspects of an exchange year: a new school, new friends, new sports team, etc. My ambition is to experience this and, stablish lifelong bonds with my host family and new friends.

I would love to meet you.
