Hello,

My name is Garazi, I am 15 years old and I live in the north of Spain, Basque Country. I really like to travel and to get to know the cultures of other countries, so I'm looking forward to being an exchange student in the United States. I like doing sports such as swimming, basketball, surfing or paddle. But I just practice one, which is artistic roller skating. I started practicing it when I was 4 years old and I love it.

In my free time I enjoy listening to music, reading, going for a walk, painting and playing the piano. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I normally hang out with my friends on some Saturdays and go for a walk or so with my family at least once a week. I also love spending time in nature such as beaches or mountains because in my point of view, landscapes are beautiful.

I also have to mention that I am very good at maths. It is a subject that I really love. I can be very helpful trying to explain the subject to my friends. If any of them don´t understand something I can explain it to them. I am also very organized and I have very good memory.

In my family there are four members: my dad, my mum, my younger brother and me. In spite of my parents being divorced I spend one week with each one of them. My dad works in an office designing plans. My mum works as a pediatrician. My brother is in the same school as me, 2 years below. He likes playing soccer and playing video games. I also have 4 of my grandparents. My maternal grandparents enjoy traveling and spending time with my brother, my cousin and me. We normally do a trip once a year all together. My paternal grandparents enjoy going shopping with me and my aunt.

I want to spend a year in the USA because I love traveling and learning about cultures all around the world. I would love to get involved in American culture and learn about American lifestyle and also get to know the country because I have never been there. I would also like to improve my English because I think that it is a very important language and more in my case, because I like to travel a lot and it is one of the most spoken languages in the world and just with English you can communicate everywhere.

My goal in life is to be happy by doing what I love most. First of all, getting a job which I enjoy and not doing one that I hate just to earn a lot of money. In my free time I want to travel to see the world and also to volunteer to help people. And maybe I would like to have a child because I love them.
