Dear future host family,

My name is Carla, I‘m recently 15 years old and I‘m from Germany. At first I would like to thank you in advance for letting me be part of your family for a year and giving me the opportunity to let my dream, a year in the US with all it‘s parts, come true.

In Germany, I live with my parents and my little brother in a house. We don‘t have any pets anymore but I still like being around animals though. I get along pretty well with my parents, we like to do a lot of activities together, for example a day trip to the capital. We also love to travel a lot as a family, no matter where to. Also, my dad and I like to play tennis.

Tennis is one of my favorite hobbies, I play about 2-3 times a week. I also do acrobatics, a mix of cheerleading and gymnastics and I enjoy going to the gym. Overall, I‘m a very sporty person and I‘m looking forward to try even more new sports during my exchange year. Another hobby of mine is playing piano and I also really enjoy reading books in my room.My favorite seasons are summer and winter. I really like winter because I love Christmas and the snow. I love to go skiing with my family in the mountains. I also really like summer as I like to go surfing. Waterskiing, driving jet ski and wake board is great too. Spending days at the lake while listening to music with my friends is also great. I really like listening to good music.

In summer, having a barbecue and jumping in the pool with my friends and family is another hobby of mine.I love spending time with my friends. We talk about everything and we laugh a lot. Together we like to hang out and to go shopping, play board games, go to the movies or go for a picknick or just a walk. Family and Friends are very important to me, because they always support me and we all have a lot of fun. According to that, I really look forward to meeting some more people to close in my heart.

I‘ve wanted to do an exchange year for as long as I remember. The US really fascinate me with it‘s culture, cities and nature. I also want to improve my English even more while I have an amazing High School experience. Finding new friends and trying and learning new things like sports, typical American recipes and special customs about the US is what I‘m looking forward to the most.Even some of my friends told me about their amazing experiences during their exchange years and made me look forward even more.
