Dear future host family,

First of all, I would like to thank you very much for giving me the chance to live with you and to go to school in the USA for a year. This has been my dream since I was little, and now, with your help, my big dream can come true and I am very grateful for that.

My name is Moritz and I am currently 15 years old. I live with my mother and my cat Söckchen in a small village in Germany. My parents are divorced, but they both support me as much as they can and we all have a good relationship. My father, his wife and my little sister live just a short drive away from me, with our two dogs Fine and Ike, and our Cat Pinsel. I see them every second weekend and during the vacations. I am very grateful that I have them all. My family support me in this project of living a year in the USA because they know, that this experience will be unforgettable for me and that I will be able to live a lot of new things and also to improve my English.

I also have a wide range of interests. For example, I recently joined a club for martial arts, more specific, taekwondo, and I really enjoy it. The training is strenuous, but also fun, as I meet a lot of friends there. I love art in different shapes and colors, I like to be creative myself and I am also interested in literature. Unfortunately, I don´t get to do so much because I have very long school days, nevertheless I still enjoy school. My friends are great and they are very happy for me that I am going to be able to live this experience.

I also like trying out new things with my friends, we often learn together and talk about everyday things, we always have a lot of fun learning new things. For example, I am very interested in science, philosophy and world affairs and I love learning about different ways of life. Other things I like is cooking and baking, and I would love to show you some German dishes. Of course I would be delighted to learn some recipes from you as well. I am also open to discover new hobbies that I could not practice in Germany.

That is also one of the reasons why I want to go to the USA. I am curious about the American culture and the way of life and hope to make new friends and share some beautiful memories with you too. My family has told me about their vacation trips in the past and now I want to gain my own experiences, which will be very good for my future.

I would like to thank you again for this opportunity and I am really looking forward to getting to know you!

Best regards,

Moritz
