Dear future host family,
my name is Mathilde and I am 15 years old. I am very excited about the opportunity to become a part of your family and experience life in the US. In this letter I will introduce myself and tell you a little bit about myself and what I like to do.
I live with my parents and my older sister in a larger city in Germany. I have a good relationship with my parents and especially with my sister. My parents are always there to support me and I enjoy spending time with them, whether its talking about our day, cooking or doing activities as a family. In addition to my immediate family I am also very close to my extended family. I love visiting my grandparents, spending time with my little cousin or playing board games with my older cousins. Family gatherings, like birthdays or holidays such as christmas, are always special to me because they bring everyone together. These moments are filled with laughter, delicious food and happy memories.
In my freetime I like to play volleyball or meet my friends. When I meet my friends we like to do fun things like going to the movies, going shopping or just going out to eat. One of my other favorite things to do is play volleyball. It‘s a great way for me to clear my mind and take a break from every day life. I love the sport not only because it‘s fun but also because it teaches teamwork and it brings people together. I would love to join a team in the US, if that‘s possible. I wouldn‘t be sad though if not because I would also love to join new sports and just meet nice people.
In the future I dream of becoming a paediatrician. That is because I adore children and enjoy helping people, so I feel like this career is a perfect fit for me. I am already working hard in school to achieve this goal.
During my stay in the US, I hope to create unforgettable memories, whether that’s by trying new activities, exploring new places or just spending time with you and your family. I’m eager to learn about your traditions, share mine and build a meaningful connection. I hope to improve my english skills and meet many new people. I feel like it will definitely be difficult for me to be this far away from my friends and family at the beginning, but I am so excited to meet you all. I would love to have host siblings no matter what age, since I’m very close to my sister and my cousins.
I am a friendly and helpful person. I’m curious to learn about your culture and traditions. I could be a little shy at the beginning, but once I get comfortable around you I’m definitely not a shy person and open up.
Thank you for opening your home to me. I am very grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to meet you and get to know your family better!
Warmest greetings
Mathilde
