Dear Host Family,

my name is Luisa and I am 15 years old. Next summer I will be 16. I am in the 10 th grade at the highschool right now. I am a really happy person, friendly, reliable, tidy and organized. I live with my mom, my dad, my little brother and with our two guinea pigs in a big house with a garden. My Brother is a few years younger. I love him even though we sometimes argue. I like doing things with him and spending time with him.

My grandparents live nearby, so I can see them as often as I like. Every monday after school my brother and I ride with our bikes to our grandparent´s house to have lunch with them.

I am a family person and I like to be surrounded by different people. I also enjoy spending a lot of time with my friends. I am very grateful for them because they support me and I can have a lot of fun with them. I see them every day at school. Sometimes we meet and go to town or meet at home and just spend time together.

In my free time, I like to do sports. I play hockey in a club and otherwise I like to go jogging, also with my friends or family members.

I am very creative and like crafting although I´m not very good at drawing. In the summer I spend a lot of time outdoors in the nature or at our public swimmingpool.

Another hobby of me is playing the flute. I have been playing in an ensemble at my school for two years. I really enjoy it and we regularly perform in concerts. The next one will be at our annual “New Year`s Concert” at our school in January.

At home I also have to help my parents with household chores. I clean the bathrooms and take care of my own room.

I like taking part in family activities like, cooking and baking together. So I can cook a typical german dish for you or we can cook a typical american dish together. I think food from other countries is very exciting and interesting and I would like to taste it.

My goals for my life are definitely to spend a wonderful and amazing year in the USA, where I am going to learn a lot of new things. The main goal is of course to improve my English and bring it to the next level. I hope, I can talk a lot with new people, so my English will get better soon. In addition I hope to meet new people and find new friends quickly with whom I can spend the year together.

Of course I also want to learn as much as possible about the culture and the country which I only know from movies and TV shows and our English book.

After the year I would like to continue my school and graduate with a high school diploma. Then I would probably like to study, but I don't really have any specific ideas yet. Right now, I think it is exciting not to plan everything, but to let life come to me and see what it brings.

My passion is music, field hockey and running. I love to do these three things and I can also combinate these things together. I can hear music while running or playing field hockey. The three things make me happy, because I can do these things alone but also with friends and family.

I look forward to a great year together with you. Also, I am very grateful for that life time opportunity and happy that you are taking me in for a year. I am exited to meet you next year.
