Dear Family,

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Ander, I am a 15 years old boy, coming from a small city of around 150.000 inhabitants in the north of Spain.

I live in my home with my parents and my brother. He is two years older than me. We enjoy our live together, and have very good times either at home or traveling.

My brother went last year to USA and he had a really nice experience there. I am sure my experience will be also fantastic!

I am studying 10th grade in high school and I expect to study 11th grade in the USA with an American family that would like to host me.

My high school is not very big, we are around 1.000 Students, from 2 to 18 years.

I started on this school when I was 2 years old, and the most interesting thing of my school is that we study everything in Basque language. So I can fluently speak not only Spanish but also Basque.

English is my third language and I would like to take this chance to also get a good level of it.

I like to practice sports. I play handball in a club for the last 4 years. My position on the field is lateral. It is a good sport to make team building. If we don’t play like a team, there is no chance to win!

I go for training 3 times per week and during weekends, we play matches against other clubs. We expect to reach a good position this year and improve the position from last year.

At school, we also practice sports. Normally we play soccer, but we also go running, to the gym, or other ball games.

I have also practice alpine sky with my family, but my mum broke her leg two years ago, and we were not able to go during last two years. I expect that we will go again this winter.

My family has a house on a very small village at the Pyrenees Mountains. My grandmother lives there, so we visit her very often. We only have one hour by car driving and we go frequently to visit her, normally twice per month.

This village has no more than 200 inhabitants, but as it is very close to the city, many people go there to spend the weekend and the holidays, same as we do.

I have lots of friends there, and we spend really nice times together.

The best for me is the summer, we can go to the river for swimming, riding with bikes or just takng a long walk in the mountains. We make excursions with friends and make a picnic after a nice but hard walk.

I have a big family, with 3 grandparents, 8 uncles and aunts, and 8 cousins. We meet quite often and make home meetings normally around a table.

They are very funny but sometimes quite noisy.

Everyyear, I make a trip with my brother and parents, to visit new places and spend time together.

This year we went to a small island in the Mediterranean sea, where we enjoyed the sun, the sea, food and we visited nice places.

I am excited to be with you, learn about your life style and give you a little bit of my culture, my company and share with your this year that will be the most important year in my life.

I will be very glad to be part of your family during this year!

See you!

Ander
