Dear future Host Family
Hi, l'm Levin, I am 15 years old, live in Germany and I will turn 16 this year. My family consists of my parents, siblings and our dog. Our dog just turned 3 years old and his name is Paco - he can also be seen in one of the photos. My mother works as a manager for a dance company. My father is a pianist and has often played concerts in the USA. They are both very important people in my life, because they support me in everything and believe in me, no matter what.
I developed Alopecia when I was younger, but it's just hair loss and nothing serious. That was a big and important step for me and l've learned to deal with it. I gained a lot of self-confidence and self-awareness and, as a result, I grew up internally. My family helped me a tot throughout this process and always supported me.
I also have a little brother. He sings in a chorus. My sister graduated from high school in the summer of 2024. She would like to start studying soon. I have a very good relationship with my siblings, sometimes we play soccer together.
In my free time, l like to cook, meet with friends and play basketball. I have developed a great passion for basketball. I only started playing in a club 18 months ago, but before that I played a bit with friends at school. And now l'm very focused on this sport: I voluntarily go to training ten times a week and enjoy it. I usually get up at 5:30 a.m. to play basketball or do athletic training in: the morning. Then I have 1–3 games on the weekend and one or two individual training sessions.
My goal is to get as far as possible in basketball. That's my dream. l'm doing well at school. In the last school year (summer 2024), I had a grade point average of 2.1 and my favorite subjects are sports, English and geography.
I am very keen to get to know a new country, its different cultures and people - a new continent. I also learn Spanish at school alongside English and hope to improve my English a lot by going abroad. Whether I live with a host family with or without host siblings doesn't really matter to me. What matters most to me is that I can build a good relationship with my host family and have the opportunity to continue to pursue my sport.
Thank you for your interest in hosting a guest student from Germany for a school year at your home
I look forward to meeting you.
Yours Sincerely,
Levin
