Dear My future host family,

Nice meet you! My name is Yujin.

Few years ago, I got to learn about the exchange student program as my mother introduced it to me. The first time when I heard about it, I refused it because I was afraid of living without my family. But few years later, when she suggested me to join it again, I changed my mind. I thought it will be a great opportunity to experience another country and to learn English deeper. So I decided to apply for this exchange student program. NOW, I’m already excited to go to the America as an exchange student!!!

I live with my mother, older brother and older sister. We are a lovely family that helps, understands and supports each other. We often share what happened with each other every day and find solutions together. I am very close with my mom. My mother helps me find my own answers and always supports me strongly. I‘m thankful to my mother all the time. We are all bust during the weekdays so we try to gather on weekends eating around the same table and spending time together. I like when we gather.

Now, I would like to introduce myself to you. To introduce myself with some adjectives. I would like to say I’m polite, kind, positive and smiling. I think being polite and considerate is really important to make good relationship. So I try not to hurt others with my words. And I also like to make others happy. I often try to smile when I talk with people and speak positive words to others so that people can be happy. For that reasons, I think I’m good at getting along with many people around me. So when I stay with an American family, I will be polite and kind, try to become helpful so that you can feel me I am helpful and a member of your real family.

Actually, I don’t have hobby because I have currently concentrated on studying. But there are something I like to do. I like to do activity or making something cute or beautiful. I also did Taekwondo, a Korean Martial arts for about 9 years. Although I quited Taekwondo, but I can show you some basic skills. l still really enjoy doing exercise.

I’m interested in art. I’m good at making something with delicacy like origami. And creating new things different from others like making unique poster. I believe I have a little sense of artistic skill. I really enjoy doing it with great passion when I start to make one thing. I feel fulfilled, when I see my painstaking outcomes. Therefore, I hope I can be a great production designer in the future.

Through this exchange program, I would like to experience new activities related to my dream in the US.

Lastly, I enjoy listening pop songs. I often listen pop song more than Korean song. I like the US band called AJR. Their beautiful and comforting lyrics and exciting Melody always makes me happy and active. So I often listen their song. (And I strongly recommend it!! You may already love it though :)

I’m really looking forward to many opportunities for activities which I haven’t experienced in Korea. I also want to learn a new and positive mindset different from Korea as I want to know another country people’s thinking. And I hope to communicate with diverse people. I will experience every things I can do while I’m in the US.

I’m appreciate for giving me this great opportunity. And thank you that you will be taking care of me. I promise to treat you as my own family.
I will try to become a person who grows more through this experience!
