Dear host family,

My name is Nize, I’m 16 years old and I’m so glad to have the experience to live with you for 6 months! I’m really excited to meet you all, thank you so much for welcoming me into your house!

I decided to do my exchange program because I want to face new challenges and somehow become an independent person, learning how to solve problems on my own, without my parents. Besides that, I want to improve my English and meet new people, make new friends and experience a completely different life that I’m used to in Brazil, my home country. In my opinion, all of these facts will be crucial to my personal growth.

Now, talking more about myself. I’m a extroverted and one of my top qualities is being friendly. But at the same time, I love spending some time alone listening to music, which is my favorite thing in the world. I love music, I can’t do anything without it, and I’m learning to play the guitar.

Another thing that I love is traveling and taking pictures. When I was a child, I even thought about being a photographer, but later I realized that I’m a Mathematics person. I like doing sports as well, I used to swim and take part of the main team of my city. I quit the team to focus on my studies but I remember the 8 years that I’ve spent swimming with love and I’m so grateful for everything that I learned there, such as discipline and perseverance.

I study at one of the best schools in my country, so my top priority is my studies. My household responsibilities are washing my dishes and cleaning my room. My parents are my best friends, I tell everything to them, and they know I’m a responsible person, so they trust me to do my own choices.

About my family, I’m a only child, and it has always been my dream to have siblings, that’s why I want a big host family, preferably, with babies, kids and teenagers to be my new siblings! I love children! I also love pets, I have a dog called Thor. I will miss him so much and that´s why I would love if you have pets at your house.

I’m sure I will face some difficulties, such as missing my home, family and friends, dealing with the new costumes and language, and on top of all, get alone on a place that I don’t know anybody. But I know I’m capable to go through this, because I’m a friendly person and I love challenges.

My parents are divorced but they are friends and they have shared custody, I spend the weekends with my father and stepmother, and from Monday to Friday I stay with my mother. I live 5 minutes walking from my school and the gym I workout daily is in front of my apartment, so I do everything walking. My english course is near from my house too, and I have english classes twice a week. I also do guitar lessons at my house once a week. On Mondays I have classes from 7am to 8pm, and from Tuesday to Friday, I only have classes in the morning, from 7am to 12:30pm. My tests are always on Saturdays and I usually have 4 or 5 tests on a day. As my study life is hard and exhausting, I love to have fun on the weekends, hanging out with my friends and spending time with family. But when I was swimming, I had 3 hours of practice every day, from Monday to Saturday. On my holidays, I like to travel. Normally, I go to beaches in Brazil, but sometimes I travel abroad.

I would like to thank you again for the opportunity. I’m sure my exchange program will be unforgettable!

With love,

Nize
