Dear host family,

First of all I want to thank you for devoting your time to meeting and welcoming a teenager you don't know. I think it's brave of you.

My name is Adriana. I'm 14 years old and I'm from Spain. When I was little, my dream was go to the USA when I grow up to learn english and to know how is the life in the United States. That's why I decided to go on a exchange year.

I'm a person who cares a lot about the feelings of others, you could say empathetic. It is very difficult for me to see people badly. I'm also a very happy and smiling person, willing to give everything to see others happy. I also have to say that I am very sensitive. I like to help others and have them trust me with everything to help them find solutions. I love telling jokes too. I consider myself a funny person. 

I live with my parents and my brother, who is three years younger than me. We live in a city, but we have a village where we go every weekend and it is like my second home. I love it because I have spent half of my life there with my grandparents. When they were younger, we used to do a lot of plans together, like go to cruises, go to watch the ligths of christmas...

I have four cousins and sometimes I see them. With the little one, who is a girl, I do a lot of activities, like play with the dolls, paint our nails or dance. We sometimes go holidays together and we enjoy a lot.

I'm in the 9th grade at school, I like my higth school and I enjoy there with my classmates. I know more or less, what I want to study in the future. I would like to go to university, get a degree and be a naval engineer, because it's my dream and because I love all transports. I made this decision after going on cruise vacactions with my family several times. My second option is do an opposition and then be an air traffic controler.

One thing that I think you need to know about me is that I love animals. In my city's house I have two cats, Cloud and Moon. Cloud is five years old and Moon is four. In my village, my grandfather has another two cats, Joju and Zara. He also has a dog called Chase. He is a German Shepherd and I really like taking him for a walk.

I also love books. I can spend hours and hours reading. My favorite genres are romance and fantasy. Like a curiosity my favorite saga is "Boys of Tommen" written by Chloe Walsh. Another favorite hobbie is travel. My mother is a travel agent, so we usually travel. My favorite destinity is Disney, since I was little I have liked princesses, so that is why I love it. I also like watching series, mora than films. My favorite series are " My life with the Walter boys" (which was filmed in Colorado), and " Gossip Girl" (which was filmed in New York). 

My favorite sport is dance. When I was little I practise a lot, but now I don't have any time.

My favorite singer is Adele, in my point of view, she is a fantastic singer and she transmits me a lot of feelings, such us nostalgia, happiness...

I adore Christmas, all the years I celebrate it with my parents, cousins, grandparents...  I really like decorate my house with the christmas tree, with the ligths...that's another reason why I want to go to the USA, because I think that Christmas days there has nothing to do with Christmas days here.

In my group of friends we are six girls, we sometimes go shopping (we love it), we go to the cinema and our favorite plan is do pijama parties, in which we watch TV (series or fims) we have dinner together and then we have our gossip time.

In my High School I have friends too, but we don't usually make any plans together because we don't live near.
