Dear Host Family,

My name is Nina, I’m 17 years old, and I live in Belgium, in the French-speaking part of the country. I am very happy with this wonderful opportunity to come and live with you for a few months.

I’m writing this letter to tell you a bit about myself, my life, and what I hope to can bring to your family during my stay. I am happy to live in a wonderful family, where we share values of exchange, trust, and closeness.

I live with my parents and my older sister, with whom I share many moments of laughter and complicity. We also have two cats at home, which makes the atmosphere even warmer and more joyful. I really appreciate the time spent together, whether it’s talking, cooking, or simply laughing over a meal we’ve prepared together or a good movie.
My family has taught me to be open, respectful, and always do my best.

In terms of school, I’m a serious and motivated student. I enjoy learning, and I give a lot of importance to my studies. I make sure my schoolwork is always regular and well-organized. I have an excellent average and I do my best to continue improving year after year. My favorite subjects are mathematics and science. My teachers are interesting and they make me want to learn.

I also have a bunch of friends, and I’m someone who is very cheerful and sociable. I enjoy spending time with my friends, chatting, and doing activities together. I have met most of my friends at school but my closest friends are the ones I met at the gym. They are like my sisters.

I have a real passion for gymnastics, a sport I’ve been practicing since a very young age. Gymnastics has taught me self-sacrifice, discipline, pushing myself beyond my limits, and the importance of teamwork. It’s an activity that helps me stay physically fit and clear my mind. I can’t wait to share my passion with you and maybe even show you some great moves or discuss this sport together.

One of my dreams is to travel and visit the United States. I love American culture and I have a strong interest in the English language. I’m working on improving my English skills, and I look forward to speaking with you in good English during my stay. It will truly help me progress and reach my language goals in life.

Soon, I’ll have the chance to join your family, and I promise to be respectful, to adapt to your organization, rules, and daily habits, to participate in daily activities, and bringing as much good mood and energy as possible. I also hope to contribute to the family life by helping around the house and creating enjoyable moments together.

I’m a positive, lively person, and I love sharing smiles and spreading joy. I sincerely thank you for welcoming me into your home. I’m also excited to discover USA, your culture, your environment, and to share memorable moments with you.

If you have any questions or would like to know more about me, feel free to contact me. I would be happy to answer any of your inquiries. Looking forward to meeting you, I send you my warmest regards and thank you a thousand times for your hospitality.

Sincerely,

Nina
