Dear host family,

My name is Nerea and I am the oldest of 3 siblings, I am 15 years old. My siblings are twins. My parents are both architects, they  met at university but they come from different parts of Spain, but both from the North.

We live in a medium-sized city located northwest of the capital of Spain. It´s about 180 miles away, it is a comfortable city where you can get around easily and you can find everything local, shop, pharmacy, health center or supermarkets and even a shopping small nearby. We live in an urbanization close to the school, it is a fairly quiet and every morning they pass some friends pick me up and we walk or bike depending on the weather.

My daily routine is the typical of a students at my age. I get up early in the morning and I go to school until 2 p.m. Time to come back home to have lunch with my whole family. It is a fun time that we all spend together. In the afternoon, I study and depending the day I have sports lessons English practice or  a little free time.

 My hobbies are sports (volleyball, skiing, surfing, golf and cycling), reading, which relaxes me a lot and when I start I can't stop, I like drawing a listening to music. I love my family, I'm very familiar person. I´m so happy to spend time with them. We love playing board games o watching movies together while we eat popcorn.

I play volleyball on the school team, we train 2 days a week and on the weekend we play games, the truth is that I love it, it is my favorite sport and that of my friends, we form a good team.

Apart from volleyball, I also really like taking bike rides, we live near a pine forest and when spring begins we usually take long walks with the whole family.

I love going with my father to play golf, I don't play as well as him of course, I'm learning, but by going together he corrects me and little by little I'm improving, although it seems to me that I still have a long way to go to catch up to him.

Skiing is another of the many things I like to do, I go every winter with my family and sometimes we get together with friends and we have a great time, and my birthday usually coincides with one of these trips and we celebrate it on the slopes.

In summer we don't stop, as my parents work, my siblings and I go to my grandparents' house and to camps, we love the beach, the sun and surfing and we usually meet my cousins and friends, we have a wonderful time.

To end the summer, as a familiar tradition the whole family goes on a trip. The first year we went to Marrakech, the change of cultures surprised us a lot and we came back amazed. Last year, we went to New York and Disney World and it couldn't have been better, we really enjoyed the trip, this year I still don't know what my parents will surprise us with, but with how "well we're behaving" I hope they take us to the Greek islands, I usually mention it from time to time to see if there is luck and they take the hint.

In September, when the curse starts, I stay during the weekends with my best Friends, we make plans together such as playing volleyball, going for walks, go bowlingor, having dinner together, shopping or going to the movies and sometimes we get together at one of our houses and spend the day.

To finish, I would like to say that I am a little shy but don't be scared, it is only at the beginning, then when I gain confidence I am very talkative and I up for all plans. In fact, this is what has encouraged me to live this experience, I think it will be enriching, not only because it will help me to be more extroverted, but because of everything that a cultural exchange brings, meeting new people, being in another country, getting out of my comfort zone and of course, improving my English. I would be really grateful if you allowed me to be part of your family. I will try my best to adapt myself in every situation an I will focus to make this experience and forgetable for everyone.
