Dear Future Host Family and School,
I am writing this letter with excitement as I prepare for my journey to the United States as an exchange student. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share a little about my life, interests, and goals. I hope this letter helps you get to know me better and understand why I am eager to become a part of your family and school community.
I consider myself an open-minded, ambitious, and determined person who is always eager to learn and grow. I have a strong passion for self-improvement, and I constantly strive to challenge myself both physically and intellectually.
Sports have always played a significant role in my life. From the age of six, I played soccer in a club until I was eleven when I suffered an ACL injury. Although my injury forced me to stop playing competitively, it did not stop my love for sports. Nowadays, I go to the gym four times a week and also run regularly. Running is not just exercise for me; it is a way to clear my mind, push my limits, and stay disciplined. I am not a part of any running club—I simply run for myself because I enjoy it.
In addition to sports, I have a deep interest in health and well-being. During my rehabilitation after knee surgery, I realized how crucial it is to take care of my body. Through conversations with physical therapists, I became more aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. This experience led me to start eating healthier last summer, and I have been dedicated to maintaining good nutrition ever since. I also plan to expand my knowledge by reading books about health, the human body, and how we can positively influence our well-being.
Beyond physical health, I am very interested in interpersonal communication. I enjoy reading books on this topic because I believe good communication is key to building strong relationships. I value meaningful conversations and always strive to improve the way I express myself and understand others.
Family is important to me. I have a good relationship with both my grandfather and grandmother, whom I visit once every two months. Although we do not see each other often, we share a warm bond. In my daily life, I enjoy spending time with my friends, but I also appreciate moments of solitude. I need time alone to recharge my social energy. Additionally, I love playing board games with my parents, as it is a great way to bond and spend quality time together. My relationship with my sister has its ups and downs, but we generally get along well.
Academically, since 10th grade, I have never had any difficulties. I enjoy learning and take my studies seriously. I am an early riser because I like to make the most of my mornings before school—usually by reading or training. Waking up early and going to bed on time gives me a sense of productivity and ensures I never feel like I am wasting time.
During my time in the USA., I have several goals. Firstly, I want to get to know the culture and experience life as a local. I am willing to meet new people, learn about different perspectives, and adapt to a new environment. Academically, I hope to challenge myself and explore subjects that interest me. I also consider participating in sports and extracurricular activities, as staying active is a big part of who I am. Most importantly, I want to build meaningful connections with my host family and new friends. I hope to create lasting memories, contribute positively to my new surroundings, and gain valuable experiences that will shape me for the future.
I am looking forward to this adventure with an open mind. I truly hope to find a host family who will support and advise me whenever I need guidance. More than just an academic or cultural exchange, I see this as an opportunity to grow as a person, embrace new challenges, and create unforgettable experiences that will stay with me for a lifetime.
P.S.
I dream to meet wonderful, open and warm host family, and host brother or sister if possible, all living closer to nature. If you happen to have a dog, I would be happy to go for a walk with him sometimes.
Best regards
