Dear family,

I am a 14 years old boy. I live in a town located in the Basque Country, in northern Spain. The town is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, including cliffs and beaches. Here we speak Basque and Spanish.

I am a friendly and easy going person with an optimistic approach to life. I have a very curious and outgoing personality and a great sense of humor. I have many different interests, such as, history and politics, investments, manga and video games.

I live with my mom, my sister and our dog since my dad passed away five years ago. My sister and I get along very well, she likes watching anime series with me. She plays the cello and she is very good at music. My mom is also a music teacher in Primary School. She plays the viola in the orchestra and likes gardening. She was also an exchange student in 94-95, at Bronxville High School in New York.

My grandparents and some cousins live here too, so we spend a lot of time together. My other cousins live in NYC, and they come over during the summer and on Christmas break. We are very close to them, because they used to live here and they are the same age as us.

As a family, we like to travel a lot. We have been to Morocco, England, US and Italy in the past few years.

Last summer I spent three weeks in England with a host family. It was a great experience!

I have a group of friends and we are very close to each other, we all practice Muay Thai three times a week. And we like to socialize and go out on weekends.

In my freetime, I like playing video games and reading.

The books that I most like are Eneida, Animal farm (G.Orwell), Etica para Amador (F.Savater), And then there were none (A. Christie), Rich Dad Poor Dad (R.T.Kiyosaki). Sapiens (Y.N.Harari) is the one I am reading now, and I am loving it. I also read manga books and my preferred one is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. I am a big fan of it.

My goals during the stay in the US are to improve my English while I fully experience the academic year and to gain new perspectives on the world by meeting new people and different cultures. I would also like to visit as many places and cities around.

After I finish High School I would like to go to University to study History and Politics degree or maybe to Law School.

Interested in hosting—whether 6-8 weeks or the entire school year?
