Dear American Family,
Hello!! Lovely to meet you!
My name is Yesmine and I'm sixteen. I'm from Tunisia and I'm in eleventh grade in high school.
Okay, basic introductions aside, I'm really excited to meet you and I cannot wait to spend my exchange year with you!
First and foremost, let me start off by telling you more about myself. I'd humbly say I'm an ambitious soul. Since my early childhood, I've aspired to do better, reach greatness and have a successful life, whether social or academic or spiritual. As I grew older, those dreams grew more realistic. Now, my biggest goal in life is to make a change. And I'm working on accomplishing that every day.
Even helping a friend in need, supporting a loved one, or lending a hand to a stranger can definitely make a change, no matter how small it is. And doing that brings me utmost joy!
I'm also very passionate about art and music and honestly? Life in general. I think that as humans, we are blessed with the opportunity to live, to love, and to share different aspects of ourselves and spread our thoughts and beliefs. That's why I think diversity is what makes us human. Our differences are what make us special and unique in our own way. I'll admit that life can be cruel sometimes, but we have the chance to make it better by spreading a positive message however we can! For me, through art, painting, sketching and playing guitar specifically, I managed to breathe life into existence with the strokes of a brush, the scribble of a pencil or the lulling tunes of a good song. Other people managed to embrace the essence of humanity itself and share it with the world through their words; which leads me to the next thing I'm passionate about, which is reading. Getting the chance to lose myself in the minds of great authors, as they pour their hearts and souls out on paper feels so intimate and captivating for me.
Now that you know me on a deeper level, let me move on to my family, my environment and some of my hopes and dreams. I am a boarder student at my school. Though at first it was difficult to be away from my family, I quickly adapted to it and through this experience of living in the dormitories, I've made amazing memories and even more amazing life-long friends.
Speaking of friends, I have plenty. But only some I call my best friends, and they are literally the best. I am who I am today because of their never-ending support and love for me. We always spend our free time at school together, and from exploring new places to playing different games, time flies past as I bond with them and create unforgettable memories. But of course, I don't let that distract me from my studies. On the contrary, we always gather to revise and study together whenever we can.
I 'm very serious about school, I have ambitions and dreams for my future. My main dream is to become a graphic designer, simply because I love computer science and I love creating art. Graphic design combines the two perfectly. And it helps that I've had immaculate support from my family. They have always encouraged me to achieve my dreams, no matter how impossible they seem. And they're the ones who taught me to always seek greatness and success.
I hope this little peek about me helped you get to know me better, and I cannot wait to get to know you back.
