Dear American Family,Â
I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirit. My name is Badie. I am 16 years old, and I am in the 11th grade at a pioneer school. I live in a small family: my father is a bank employee; my mother has passed away in the COVID-19 pandemic; I really miss her a lot; and my two siblings. I really love my caring, supportive, and loving family. Indeed, what I like to do the most with my family is playing games, whether virtual or real ones, and travel to discover new places in my home country. For example, my favorite memories are the ones in which we all went on a cruise during the summer holiday. I was really entertained: we were all dancing and singing out loud. Thus, I really appreciate those moments that I get to spend in a healthy atmosphere provided by my beautiful family.
Besides, when it comes to responsibilities, my parents have taught me and my two brothers that it is crucial to share all family chores equally between us. So, mine was helping with the car wash and taking care of our small garden, keeping my room tidy and clean, and giving a helping hand to my little brother in his homework and studies.
Moreover, as I was blessed with a beautiful voice, as my mother used to say. This got me in the music field, so I joined at first a music club where my journey of playing the violin began as my love for music grew. I have been enjoying every moment I spent playing this instrument for the last 8 years that thanks to I became a member of the regional club of music and got the opportunity to win a lot of prizes as a group. Add to that, I really love traveling and discovering new places in my home country and around the world if possible.
Yet with a sportive perspective, tennis has always been my favorite sport since it did not only help me get rid of stress but also gave me the opportunity to strike up a lifelong relationship like my best friend of 6 years. Me and him have so much in common, from our passion for tennis to getting along with mostly the same people. So, I can ensure that my friends play a very important role in my life. Whether by gathering in one of us's house or visiting public places, the moments I spend laughing and joking with them are definitely unforgettable.
Additionally, my home city is actually a small one. The people around here are very kind and helpful, and they stand by each other in ups and downs. This place is known for its healthy and organic food and its balanced weather. In addition, since I was a kid, I was fond of all things related to space. That's why I am doing my best to achieve my goal of becoming an aerospace engineer so that I get the chance to work with planes and spaceships.
What I want my host family to know more about me is that I am really interested in learning and trying the American lifestyle, as it is very different from mine. I want to live the Christmas vibes, Haloween, and many other festivals held during the year. This exchange experience will actually give me the opportunity to improve myself as I will be living an unforgettable life experience that will definitely boost my self-confidence and open a lot of doors for my future.
Thank you.
Badie
