Dear host family,

My name is Gerard, and I am 15 years old. I como from the east coast of Spain, where I live in a countryside house with my parents and my younger brother. We also have a dog named Bimbo; He is three years old and part of our family.

 I am very active and love sports. I play football in a local team in my town, and also practice Valencian ball, a traditional sport from my region. Sometimes, I also play padel with friends and family. Apart from sports, I really enjoy watching movies and listening to music in my free time.

One of my biggest passions is travelling. Every year, my family and I go on a trip together. Last year, we went to Oslo with some friends, and we had an amazing time. I have also visited Brittany in France, Copenhagen, Riviera Maya and Strasbourg. Another trip we take every year is to go skiing, which I absolutely love!

On a daily basis, I go to school in the morning, and in the afternoons, I do my homework and practice sports in a club.

The main reason I want to study abroad is to experience a new way of life, improve my English, and learn about different cultures. Last year, I spent two weeks in Ireland living with a host family, and I really enjoyed the experience. That is why would love to repeat it in the United States and immerse myself even more in the language and culture. I believe that knowing another language is very important for the future, as it opens many opportunities.

As for my future plans, I am still not completely sure, but since I love sports, I am considering studying something related to physical education or physiotherapy.

In return, I hope to bring a friendly and positive attitude to your home. I would love to share Spanish culture with you, help with daily tasks, and contribute to pleasant family environment.
