Dear American Family,

It is a big honor and privilege for me,a young person with big dreams whom comes from one of the smallest but also one of the most beautiful countries in the heart of the Europe, to throughout you and school that I will be going to, learn about American glorious history and great culture. It is also an honor for me, that I have been given this life changing opportunity. I truly believe that I have all features one Montenegrian should have to represent his country. Now, let me tell you something about myself.

My name is Dusan and I am a 16 year old highschool student. I come from a not so large family, my parents are divorced and I live with my mum. Even though they are not together, I have a good relationship with my father too. Besides them, I have a grandma who I love so much. Unfortunately, I don't have any siblings. My mother is a judge in a higher court. She is very good at her job and has been a judge for around 30 years. My father is retired and lives in a small town by the sea. I enjoy spending time with him, and I go to his place almost every weekend. Most of my childhood I spent in a different town where mum used to work. I finished primary school there as a great student. At the time I finished primary school, she got promoted and moved to the one of the biggest towns in my country where we live today. I enrolled in economics school for law and very quickly, I gained a lot of new friends. I spend a lot of time with my mum and I love going in the nearby church with her on Sundays. After going to the church, we always go to the grandma's and spend the rest of the day with her.

I know that my mum has a very stressful and hard job and I help her by wash my own clothes and ironing them, vacuuming my room, sometimes preparing food for us and helping her around the house. I'm a person that loves sport and I have trained most of the sports that are available to train here, but I've always wanted to play American football. I think that I would be good at it because I'm very hardworking and persistent person. I have been able to watch my favorite sport on television, but I hope that in the near future I would be able to actually participate in it.

Beside sport, I love watching American movies and my favorite one is Cast away with Tom Hanks in it. What I truly love about it is the strong message that is being sent. Movie explains that there is always hope and a way to survive the difficulties in life whether it may be physical, mental or emotional obstacles. I'm also passionate about learning Spanish and I have an A1 certificate for it.

But the thing I love doing the most is hanging out with my friends. My plans for the future are finishing the law school like my mum and become a successful lawyer for human rights. I think that this program will help me significantly with my plans for the future because it will help me broaden my horizons as I will be learning about different backgrounds, lifestyles, and people. All of that will shape me as a better and more mature person.

I look forward to meet you and get to know you better.

Best wishes,

Dusan
