Hi future family,

I trust everyone is doing extremely well. My name is Marian, and I'm a 15-year-old South African teen girl. I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to stay with your family, experience life in your country and share parts about myself and my culture with you.

Let me start by telling you a little about myself. My family consist of my grandparents, mum and stepfather. As an only child. I have a close relationship with my family, and they have always supported me in pursuing my passions. One of my greatest joys is baking and cooking. Experimenting with recipes, trying out new dishes and seeing my family enjoy the food I make is extremely fulfilling. In addition, I love swimming and listening to music, which gives me a sense of comfort and happiness. When I'm not in the kitchen or swimming, I enjoy reading books, particularly romance novels.

At home, I take on several responsibilities, such as helping with household chores, preparing meals occasionally, and assisting my grandparents when they need it. These tasks have taught me the value of time management and teamwork, qualities, i hope to bring with me during my stay with your family.

I am fortunate to have a few close friends who mean the world to me. We enjoy activities like going to the mall, visiting hidden gems in our city, baking together, or simply spending time chatting about our shared interests. They've been a significant part of my life, and i deeply cherish the moments we spend together.

I come from a vibrant city that combines the modern age with a rich cultural heritage. South Africa is known for stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife and warm welcoming people. My city reflects these characteristics, blending bustling urban life with peaceful retreats.

As for my future, I aspire to study chemical engineering. Science and Mathematics have always sparked an interest within me, and I dream of contributing to innovations that benefit society. I am particularly drawn to environmental sustainability and hope to work on solutions that positively impact the world.

From this exchange program, I hope to gain valuable insight into new cultures, build lifelong connections, and grow as an individual. Living in a different environment will teach me independence, and adaptability, and broaden my perspective of the world. I am also eager to share my culture and experiences with you, from South Africa recipes to stories about my life back home. I would love to learn more about your family, traditions, and the activities you enjoy together.
