Dear American Family,

My name is Louise and I'm thrilled to be able to stay with your family during my time in the US. Let me use this time to tell you a little about my family and I, and things we enjoy doing together. In my family, we do various activities together like cleaning up during the weekends and cooking together to try out new recipes. Family time is very important, and we always made the best out of every chance that we have to reflect and bond. I am the second of five children. My parents are great role models and the best parents any child like me could ever wish for.

As part of my house chores, I clean the bedrooms, kitchen, and back yard of our house. I also help with cooking and tutor my younger siblings with lessons that they find difficult understanding.

I have several interests which have shaped me to the person that I am and will be in the nearing future. I love baking although I am still learning and not perfect, I have interest in designing handmade accessories, reading, and researching. I am also passionate about reading, researching as these two interests help expand my knowledge and bring out the creativity within me, and positioned me for the entrepreneurial interest that I hold. These interest and my compassion for others has given me purpose to pursue law as a career. With these qualities, coupled with my ability to finding solutions to problems will help me succeed as an exchange student and even beyond.

As an introvert, my friends are chosen very carefully as they impact my life positively. The love competition like me, and we enjoy spending time together. In many ways, we would often work as team on school project and outside of schoolwork's as we always shared meaningful ideas in our challenging times. We periodically plan hangout where we get to play games that interest us all and that are times new to us all, it's always a very fun moment. In my view, these gathering do not only bring us closer but help us learn and grow together.

I live in the outskirts of a large city in Liberia. It has a medium population with a lively atmosphere offering a feeling of suburban settings. The community is nicely mixed with local businesses and areas of residence.

I am interested in a wide range of activities to try while in the U.S. including handcrafting, interior designing, and baking. My personal goal is to have a career that will allow me to make positive impact while staying closely connected to my creative interests.

I want for my host parents to know that I am a curious person, and a straightforward individual who adapts easily and enjoy learning about new culture and trying different things. I cherish meaningful bonds and believe in treating everyone with respect and kindness, I am excited to share these qualities with my host family and the rest of the YES community. This exchange program offers me a chance to grow personally and with the skills and experiences that will be gain, I will bring them home with me and continue to inspire the change that I envision.

Thanks so kindly for accepting to host me and I look forward to creating a bond beyond the YES program.

Sincerely,

Louise
