Hello, My name is Jiwoo from South Korea and I will be turning seventeen this year.

I am happy to participate in this program. This program will be very special and priceless experience for me because it is my first exploring outside of my home country.

I am a bit nervous and anxious of making friends and adjusting the culture but I have never been more excited than ever.

The reason why I want to study abroad is because I want to explore the culture and I know this is a rare opportunity given to not everyone.

I am willing to make an unforgettable memories and experiences by learning American culture, making friends and being part of family member of my guardian.

Even though, I am not used to speak English as first language. I have been exposed to English throughout my life time and I love to speak English like native.

I grew up hearing English in my daily life from my brother and my father since my brother has been studying in United States for many years and my father is working for the company based in United States as well. I like to learn English the expressions and gestures that we do not use in Korea.

Studying abroad will provide the environment to speak English and I am expecting to lose the fear of making grammatical mistake in conversation.

My favorite subject is music and history.

I believe all subjects are relate to each other somehow and history is holding them in the center.

Thus, I would like to study American history as well as world history which will help me to better understand and accommodate the American culture.

I have been taught by wise parents who always told me to make own decision and be responsible for them.

Even though, I am very cautious decision maker since I have been responsible for them as young. However, my desire to study in United States was not disappeared.

I have tried various fields of learning such as playing the instruments, training vocal, editing, drawing, inline skating, and doing pilates.

I would keep following my passion to learn new and different things wherever I am at.

I might be frustrated or stressed but I will not stop answering my curiosity, pursuing my education, and fulfilling with good experiences for next 10 months in America.

I am exciting for the new journey.
