Dear host family,

Hi, my name is Lucie, I'm french and I am sixteen years old, almost seventeen. I live in northern France in a little city. I have two siblings whom I love, a little sister who's nine and a brother who's four. They are my half-siblings from my dad's side but I've never considered them as half. I also have a dog at my Mom's. My parents are divorced but I live equally with both of them in our little town. My school is half an hour away from my home and we have a pretty full schedule but I like it. Since I am a kid I love going to school to see my friends but also to learn. I work at home but I am lucky and with my good memory I am a fast learner. My favorite subjects are english and chemistry.

If I could I would live a thousand lives to try each job and lifestyle but unfortunately I can’t. There are some job ideas that I have but I’m not sure of any of them and they are complete opposite. I would love to work in medicine, maybe be a surgeon or a cardiologist. I also love languages, mostly english, I would love to write in a magazine about fashion or music or be an F1 journalist.

During my free time I like to read books and poetry, watch some old movies, my favorite movie of all times is ‘’The Notebook’’, but what I love the most in life is music. It allows me to escape most of the time. I love going to concerts, they are my self-place. I share this with my bestfriends. We also love Formula 1, I love motorsports and would love to be a race-engineer but it’s more a dream than a goal.

I would say that I am open-minded and extrovert, I love meeting people, getting to know them. I love to move, do things, see new places but sometimes I like to chill on my own. And even though I can be really energetic when I am around the people I love, I can be quiet and calm when I'm in my head. And I am really empathetic and caring, the people I love are the most important thing in my life, I just need to be with them for a minute and they recharge my batteries. I am not worried about going to another continent for a year because I know these bonds will stay forever.

My favorite place on earth is the airport and more precisely the airport next to my home town because when I get there I get the feeling that I can go anywhere at anytime and be whoever I want to be.

I would love to do an exchange year because I want to see the world ! I've always wanted to travel around the planet and especially in the US. My dearest wish is to live in NYC one day. I chose the US because since I can remember, I've wanted to live the american dream, go to high school, see a football game, go to prom. But I also love the american culture and its history. I think it would be a great opportunity for me to discover a new lifestyle and to improve my english. I want to be surfin’ USA !

Wether with you, my host family, or at school, I think I could share the french culture try to show you the european vision of life. And I would be more than happy to share with you the daily life in the chores as well because it can be special moments shared.
