Dear future host family,

First of all I want to thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for hopefully giving me the opportunity to get to know your culture and become part of your family, it means a lot to me and I really appreciate it.

And now I want to intoduce myself a bit. I am Juli, I am 15-years old and from a small town in Germany. I live there togethere with my mom, dad and our dog "Benno". I really enjoy spending time outdoors. Sometimes I go for a walk or run, and other times I just love hanging out with my friends outside. I also love playing soccer and I have been playing at my soccer club since I was nine. Through the sport I have made many new friends and I think that sports connect a lot.

However I am very thankful for all of my friends, because each of them have a special place in my heart and they are all like my family because I dont think you need to be related to call someone your family.

Recently I also got into watching Formula-1 and in general I got more interested in motorsports.

I really like trying out new sports or activities and I am looking forward to get to know your favorites so we can experience it togethere. Besides the active hobbys I also like some creative things like drawing, painting and photographing.

In the summer I enjoy spending time at the lake or at the beach. The lake isn't far away but I can only stay at the beach and by the sea when we are on vacation. I think it is a bit sad because it is one of my favorite places.

When my dad was my age, he also did an exchange year in the usa which partly inspired me to also do it. I mean there are many more things why I wanted to do it. For example I always wanted to know how it is like to live in a diffrent country and experience the school life there. I wanted to know how it is like living with a completly new family and now I get the chance to experience this.

I am so excited to get to know you and to make new friendships and I wonder how my life is gonna change.

I think that the school and my daily life will be so different, but that is one thing I am looking forward to.

I am also very curious how my new environment will be where I will live and in general how the year will turn out. I am open for everthing and the only thing that i hope for is that it is gonna be a good time.
