Hi, my name is V., I'm 15 years old and I come from a beautiful city. I'm happy to write this letter because I've been wanting to do my fourth year of high school abroad for a long time. I'm in my third year of high school in human sciences and I love to travel, get to know new cultures and learn English, which will be essential for my future.
I live with my dad, his partner and my little sister, with whom I have a special bond despite the 10 year age difference. I also have a great relationship with my dad's partner, she's known me since I was little and has always been a point of reference for me. My mom and my other sister live in another city, and I also have a good relationship with them, even if sometimes we argue, but we always end up making up.
People describe me as a sunny, stubborn, nice girl with a good heart. I'm very sociable and in my group of friends I'm "the nice friend". My group is made up of four friends, the “Bros”, with whom I spend my days at school and weekends. Each one has a different character, but together we complete each other. My best friend S. is like a sister to me: we are opposites, but very close. Even though we are both very proud, we can't stay away for long and we always find a way to make peace.
I love going out with friends, playing sports, drawing, listening to music and above all travelling. I have visited many countries and dream of exploring the whole world. When I grow up I would like to become a correspondent, waking up every day in a different city to tell its story. I also like writing: when I can't express something in words, I take a pen and paper and write down my thoughts.
One of my most important goals is learning English, both for my experience abroad and for my future. At school I work hard in all subjects, even in those in which I have more difficulty, because I always want to improve. I have a good relationship with my teachers and for three years I have been a class representative, a role that requires responsibility, communication skills and objectivity. I don't like people who try to please others for convenience: in fact, I prefer to be appreciated for my sincerity and respect towards everyone.
My favorite subject is human sciences, but I like humanities in general. Even if sometimes I would like to stay home, I always look for motivation to face the school day. I get along with my classmates, even if there are moments of confrontation, but in the end we always find a way to get along
When I leave for the year abroad, I know that I will really miss my family, my friends and my city, which I still find fascinating even after 15 years. But I am sure that it will be a wonderful experience, that will make me grow and will remain in my heart forever. I am a strong person, I don't let problems get me down, on the contrary: I face them and overcome them with determination.
I would like to thank in advance the family that will host me, ready to share an unforgettable experience with them.
