Dear Host Family and School,

my name is Olivia, I am 16 years old and I am from Hungary. I am very grateful for the opportunity to become an exchange student.

My family consists of my parents, me and our dog. My father works at telekom as an electrical engineer for over 20 years now. My mother, although she has a degree in dietics, works as a Key Account Manager as a part of that she visits doctors and organizes events for them. My relationship with my parents is really good, we barely have any disagreements and when we do it doesn't last long. Without them I wouldn't be where I am right now. I have to mention that since my grandmother passed away and my grandfather moved near us, I am abe to spend more time with him. Unfortunately, I don't have any siblings, only a dog, who is like a brother to me. We got him during the pandemic so I won't be bored at home. I deeply appreciate the wor my family has done for me and I consider myself fortunate to have them by my side.

In my free time I love to read and play sports. My favorite sports are tennis, horse riding, running and going to the gym. I tried to spend as much time as possible doing sports, since moving is crucial for a healthy mind and body. Hiking and camping were always very important to me since they are not just useful but it can help me bond with my friends and family.

There are two different schools I attend. One of them is Secondary School, here I am part of the choir, the newspaper and the student government. The other school is an English language educational institute focusing on various unique subjects and opportunities. There I am the founder and the president of the Philosophy Society which is currently organising a conference. Right now I am doing a research with a professor about Cicero, and his speeches; I do this because I am a huge fan of Classics, history and learning Latin. I enjoy participating in competitions in essay writing, Latin, literature and history. The subjects I would take up would be focused mostly on the humanities and arts. It is my dream to continue my studies at an american university.

It cannot be expressed how thankful I am for opening your home to me. I truly appreciate your kindness and hospitality. I hope to learn a lot from you and to also share some of my own culture with you (especially delicious traditional dishes). Please let me know if there’s anything I should prepare before coming.
