Dear future host family,

My name is Orane, but everyone calls me Roro because it sounds cooler. I am 15 years old (almost 16yo), and I come from France. I’m an only child, and I live with my amazing mother. I also have a wonderful stepfather who has a daugther and I considere her as my sister.

I have been over the moon since I have known that I’m going to be an exchange student in the USA for the 2025/2026 school year because it has always been my dream. I’m so grateful for this opportunity, and I hope we will spend this unforgettable year together!

A little about me: thanks to my experiences, I'm a mature, calm, and open-minded young girl, but I also have a great sense of humor, so we’ll definitely have lots of fun and laughs together ! I’m also a studious and hard-working student because school is very important to me, especially to my future and career goals. I really enjoy meeting new people, discovering new cultures, and I’ve been lucky enough to travel a lot, which has helped me adapt to new environments. This ability also comes from the three years I spent in boarding school, as I was in a sports study program for athletics. So, if I can help the track and field team at my high school, I would be more than happy to !

One of the most important aspects of my personality is my passion for aviation, which has interested me since I was a child. I’m currently working on getting my private pilot’s license, so I already fly planes. Actually, I want to become an airline pilot, and that’s one of the reasons why I will spend a year in your country, since, as you may know, it’s necessary to be bilingual to become a pilot so If you decide to spend this year with me, you’ll help me to get closer to achieving my biggest career dream, and I truly can’t thank you enough for that.

In addition to aviation, I absolutely love cooking and baking (by the way, I make amazing cookies, and I’d love to share my homemade ones with you ! And maybe even introduce you to some French cooking?). Traveling the world and staying active through sports are also essential parts of my life.

I chose your wonderful country because I’ve always been interested in. I love your culture, traditions, and holidays, especially Thanksgiving, which I would be excited to experience more deeply! I truly hope you’ll allow me to experience American life by welcoming me into your home. If that happens, you can expect from me a strong desire to integrate and adapt to your lifestyle and to your family, to spend a lot of good times together, help with household chores and daily tasks, and assist you whenever you need my help. It’s important to me to be kind and helpful to everyone.

Lastly, to show you how motivated and interested I am in your country, I wanted to share this with you: I already know by heart the Pledge of Allegiance and the names of all 50 states, so I’m totally ready for the USA! Thank you so much in advance for your hospitality. I can’t wait to begin this adventure and create unforgettable memories with you, future host family.
