Dear host family,
My name is Daphné, I'm French, I'm 15 years old and I'm in 10th grade. I'm a sporty girl, indeed I practice swimming, dancing and horse riding. I love hanging out with my friends, playing board games, reading, watching my favorite TV series, visiting new places and travelling. I am enthusiastic, autonomous, curious, responsible, polite, punctual and optimistic.
My mom is a business manager in a financial company . My dad is a lawyer in a practice. I have two step-brothers on my mom side. The oldest will leave to Australia on a road trip in February/march 2025. The youngest is a military in the navy, since June 2024 he lives in the USA because he works at a military base in Virginia. I am close to my half-brothers whom I consider as my brothers but I am sad not to see them often. I have two cats: Rio and Plume, and one of my dream would be to get a dog.
I spend a big part of my day in high school, from 8.30 am to 4.30pm-5.30 pm. I have a lot of homework and tests but school made me meet all of my friends and I have a lot of memories of time spent at school, and I think that it will be the same in an american high school. My high school organizes a lot of events like a christmas market inside of the high school, a winter ball, a Christmas day, a "day without a bag", a carnival, a valentine's day, some charity events, a soccer tournament, a "twins day",...I love my high school because there is never a dull moment and the majority of the students are kind and attentive. I'm organized so when I come back from school I do my homework for the next day and for the days after. I have always made friends in any place because I'm open-minded, sociable, spontaneous, and I adapt easily. Furthermore, I have a lot of friends who can count on me because I am attentive, kind, curious, honest, sincere, I am good listener and I have a sense of humor.
I have always been a passionate of the USA since I was a little girl. I have been to the USA before but I wanted to learn more about the culture, the foods, the traditions, the people, the american school system, what is life really like in the USA, and of course to improve my English. I wanted to have my own experience and this year, this memories, this moments will remain engraved in my memory for life. Furthermore, you (my host family) will stay for life in my heart and I will have unforgettable friendships with american students. Live in a host family, a host community and a host high school for one year will be an incredible experience for me, I could bring happiness, joy and something new. I could also teach to american people some french traditions, the french foods, the french cultures, the french expressions and tell them how life in France is. For everyone, it will be an incredible experience of only one year.
Thank you, my dear host family to welcome me for a year in your home, your community and your life. I am very grateful.
Sincerely,
Daphné
