Dear future Host Family,

first of all, I would like to thank you very much for this incredible opportunity that you are giving to me. My name is Sidney, I am 15 years old, and I am from Germany. I live with my parents, and my two brothers. We also have two cats, who are 16 and 18 years old.

In my free time, I do carnivalistic dance, which is similar to cheerleading. I specialize in guard and show dance and have been doing this since I was almost three years old. Dancing is a big passion of mine, and through it, I have met many of my closest friends.

Another passion of mine is diving—I absolutely love it! Even though I have only been diving for about one and a half years, it already fulfills me completely. I have had the amazing opportunity to dive with incredible marine wildlife, such as manta rays, sharks, and turtles. One of my biggest dreams is to dive with a whale shark one day.

I also enjoy spending time with my friends, whether it’s just talking or going out to eat—most of the time, we end up having sushi. My best friend and I have known each other for over 13 years, and I am so grateful to have her by my side.

I am beyond excited about my exchange year! I have always been fascinated by American culture, the people, and the beautiful nature. Everything I have seen in movies and pictures looks amazing. But most of all, I am looking forward to meeting you, my host family, making new friends, experiencing new things, growing as a person, and enjoying every single moment of this adventure.

This is me, and I hope we get the chance to meet soon. Thank you for helping make this dream, which I have had for so long, come true!
