Dear American Family,Â
Hello! My name is Taylan. I can't wait to meet you with this wonderful opportunity. I am writing this letter to introduce myself and my family, to share my interests and to express my goals. I sincerely believe that the time I will spend with you will be very educational, fun and unforgettable for me.
Me and My Family
I am 15 years old and the only child in my family, my father is a police officer and my mother does not work. I love spending time with my family. Our family has a strong bond of love. We support each other in every difficult situation. We enjoy spending time together on weekends and special occasions. Of course, I have various responsibilities to keep order at home, among these are organizing my own room, helping to prepare meals, helping with housework (dusting, mopping the floors, etc.) and taking care of my pet. I clean my cat's litter box and play games with him to make him happy.
My Interests and Hobbies
My Interests and hobbies are focused on engineering and technology, but I am also interested in social activities. Playing chess, in particular, is one of my biggest hobbies. Chess is a game where I love strategizing and thinking analytically, so I regularly participate in tournaments and play with my friends. Games that require intelligence, such as chess, are not only fun, but also provide people with problem-solving skills. If we talk about engineering and technology, a significant part of my life is spent in this activity. I prepare for engineering competitions in and out of school, and spend most of my free time in the workshop during school. We follow the development of science and technology and do projects around the world. The area that interests me the most in engineering is model airplanes. Additionally, I am the captain of a project in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles at school. I am also the pilot of the UAV that we are developing. Together with my team, we are developing a completely unique new UAV. I have a legal model airplane flying license in Turkey. I am very interested in participating in engineering competitions, hackathons or STEM events such as Teknofest, where I came second in Turkey. I also love and would like to participate in social volunteering projects. Volunteering, helping people around me and making new friends gives me great joy. I am also very interested in outdoor activities in America. Hiking, cycling or going on nature trips gives me peace.
My Friends and Activities We Like to Do Together
Spending time with my friends is very fun and valuable to me. Going to the movies together, going for a walk outside, playing team sports like football (soccer) or just having a nice conversation are some of the activities we like. My friends are curious people who love to learn like me, so we contribute a lot to each other. I also enjoy attending various events with my friends and sometimes organizing small social events. When we spend time together, we always learn\ something and this strengthens our relationships.
About My City
The city I live in is one of the big cities of Turkey. Especially due to its climate, summers are hot. At the same time, the city I live in is very rich in terms of history and culture. In addition, many cultural events and festivals are organized in my city.
Carreer Plans and Future
I have many plans for my future. I want to pursue a career in engineering, which is my current interest. I am thinking of focusing on robotics and artificial intelligence, aircraft and technology. My goal is to follow developments in this field, participate in projects related to these technologies and develop innovative solutions worldwide. This program will not only improve my technical skills, but will also allow me to express myself better from a cultural perspective. Meeting people from different cultures, learning their perspectives and expanding my worldview is very valuable to me. The experience I will gain in America will greatly contribute to my future career and personal development.
My Personality
I am a curious, friendly and open-minded character, I love getting to know new cultures and meeting people with special backgrounds. I have experienced taking on management roles, whether in faculty projects, institutional activities or in my personal life. I believe that a great chef listens to others, encourages teamwork and enables us all to reach our full potential. I am constantly inclined to step forward, prepare activities and lead others to achieve the goal of an unusual place. I am also responsible and disciplined, constantly striving to do my best in everything I do. I take my commitments seriously and experience successfully managing my time to work, hobbies and social life. I value honesty and fairness and have the confidence to treat others with respect. Outside of school, I experience spending time with friends and family. I love playing chess, which allows me to think strategically and live focused. I am also interested in sports, especially American football, and experience the teamwork and subject matter that comes with it. I rely on staying positive, making people laugh, and constantly being open to new experiences. I am excited to grow as a person through this exchange, studying from specific cultures and further increasing my management abilities.
What do I want to gain?
The expectations of this exchange program are to deepen language development and engineering knowledge. Also, examining the culture of America closely, looking at different lifestyles and different perspectives of people will give me a great perspective. In addition, I hope to improve socialization and grow strong with people from different villages in the world thanks to the experiences I will gain here.
I can't wait to meet you, learn new things and have a great time together. I hope that you can see me more closely through this letter
Hope to see you!
Taylan
