Dear host family,

Hello, my name is Maxine ! I'm a 16 years old girl living in France and if you’re reading this letter, right now, it is probably to learn a bit more about me and my project, so here I go...

I am part of a big family of 6: my parents, my 3 sisters and me ! I have a dog, but I used to have two, and I also have a cat.

At home, I live with my younger sister and my parents. My older sister is studying in Rome, Italy, for the moment, and the other one is graduated and has her own place now.

At school I am a good student. I've had an average grade between 16 and 17 out of 20 at the end of the last years (if it wasn't 18). I like to go to school and discover lots of new things because I am a super curious girl.

And what about my favorite things? My favorite school subject is English. I love this language and to be honest I find it romantic. I know people often think french is romantic, right? Well, even if a lot of people think it is, I don't think the “every day”-french is !

My passions are dancing, music, reading, writing and most of all : traveling. I wish to become a fly attendant because I adore traveling and learning new languages. I want to do this full school-year in the U.S.A. because, like I said, traveling is one of my passions but not only. I also told you that I am a super curious girl which is also a good reason !

I have always wanted to visit and discover the US... I have “a thing” with the country ! I've never been there so, but I love what I already heard and saw, and I know I want to discover more. I'm attracted to the country, it's history, it's culture, it's so many different populations and variety of cultures and it's hospitality too!

Like I already said, I’m a very curious and interested girl, and it has some really good sides ! For instance, I’m interested in literally everything, I always love to discover more and new things ! I do believe it makes me an open-minded person, but the fact that I am not only French but half Belgian too opens my mind even more, letting me love always more countries and cultures.

I also am a really positive person and I try to see the good in everything because life is so much funnier if you see the good side! If someone asked me about my qualities and my defaults, I don’t really know what I could answer because it depends on how you see things. But you have to know that I always try to adapt my best to my surrounding environment and the people with me ! And most of all, if anyone needs help, I’m here for that !

I really believe it could be so enriching to meet new people and discover an entirely different world. I am sure that this year with your family will be the best experience of my life... It won't be just a year in a life, no. It will be a life in a year ! Thank you for reading me, and thank you in advance for considering hosting me. I am sure that I will find a wonderful family to share the year of my life !
