Dear future host family,

My name is Cassian, I am 16 years old, and I come from a small town in Germany. I am very excited about the opportunity to participate in this exchange program in the United States, and I would like to take this chance to introduce myself and share a little bit about who I am.

One of the main reasons I want to take part in an exchange program is a two-week-long school trip I went on in 2023. I had always been curious about the U.S., but experiencing it firsthand was truly eye-opening. I instantly fell in love with the country, the culture, and the open-hearted people. Ever since the day I arrived in the U.S., I have been certain that I want to participate in an exchange like this one to immerse myself even more in the American way of life. I am fascinated by the cultural diversity, the school spirit, and the overall lifestyle, and I am eager to experience it on a deeper level.

I come from a loving and supportive family. I have two older siblings who are currently in university, and growing up with them has taught me a lot, especially about responsibility and taking care of others. My parents have always encouraged me to be independent while also valuing family connections. We enjoy spending time together, whether it’s during family meals, trips, or simply talking about our daily lives. I believe that being part of a host family will be a wonderful experience, and I am excited to share my own culture while learning about theirs.

Sports play a big role in my life. I started playing soccer when I was two years old and continued for many years. However, after two ACL injuries, I decided to step away from the sport. Even though this was a difficult decision, I didn’t want to give up being active. Today, I enjoy running and going to the gym regularly, as both help me stay fit and push my physical limits. I love trying out new sports and have explored all kinds of hobbies, so I am open to any new activity of hobby.

I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity of living with you during my exchange year. I can´t wait to share a lot of experiences together and to create a lot of memories with you.
