Dear host family,

my name is David, I am 15 years old and I live in Germany. It is a small city with 227.000 inhabitants, but nice. We live in a house and my grandparents are living next to us.

I have an older brother]. He will soon start his job as a police officer. We spend a lot of time together and do many activities like sports and gym. My Dad also works as a police officer. My father and I often go to the soccer stadium and spend time together, because we are both soccer fans. My mother is a yoga-teacher and works also in an Elementary school. She always helps me to learn for my class tests. We have a cat called Tommy. We like to play board games like activity with our family and friends.

I am currently in 10th grade. My favorite subjects are Sport and English. I also speak some French and I spent one week in France for an student exchange. Salih, my exchange partner and I are still in touch together.

In my free time I enjoy playing soccer and going out with my friends further I also like going to the gym to train my body. I train soccer three times a week and we have league games at the weekend. Sometimes I like making cakes, because I love sweets. My favorite music artist is Jazeek, he is a German Rapper. I´m not sure if you know him in the USA yet. I like going out to visit concerts and I also like Basketball and Volleyball.

The last few years we spent our family holiday on the Isle of Elba in Italy. It´s beautiful there! And this year my family and I travel to Mauritius. I think it will be the last journey together with my brother for a while.

What I really love is to cut my friends hair. I started by watching some tutorials on tik tok when I found out that it is really fun. Now one could say that it is some kind of passion of mine.

After the 10th class I want to see a bit of the world, improve my englisch and I think I would really like the American way of life. We talked a lot in our English lessons in school about it and it sounded good to me, so I decided to spend an exchange year in the USA. I am looking forward to getting to know the American high school and the differences to my school.

I want to improve my language skills and get to know a new culture and develop personally. I want to experience the American way of life and I also want to make valuable friends, make unforgettable memories and share my experiences with my host family.

I´m an open-minded and responsible person, who enjoys taking on new challenges and adapting to new environments.

I am looking forward to living with a host family, having lots of new experiences and taking part in activities together. An exchange year will be a great experience for me. I'm looking forward to experiencing American culture.

So I really look forward to spend time with you and I am open to all what the exchange year will bring.
