Dear American Family,
Hello from another part of this world and the first thing I want to say to you is Thanks! I want to express my gratitude for reading this letter and welcoming me into your house as it takes a lot of responsibility and dedication to host a foreign student.
I’d like to tell you about myself so you can get to know me better. I am known as the life and soul of the party. I am an open-minded and funny person, who loves making people smile. My family is quite small, it consists only of me and my mom living in one house, as my father and sister live and work in another city and country. Despite any conflicts that we may have we value and love each other wholeheartedly. When we gather all together we enjoy ourselves. We love playing board games like cards (without money), monopoly or chess. We are also interested in exploring our country like going out of the city for nature, visiting villages and different cities or simply searching for new places to eat out. We try to soak up our own country’s diversity of traditions or dialects of language. So in the USA I will have a lot to tell you about! I love how our family members match each other despite any differences and how their characters shape my personality. My family has taught me to never give up and appreciate the world around me.
My home responsibilities include vacuum cleaning, washing the floors, removing dust from surfaces, watering flowers, throwing the garbage and so on. My hometown is one of the largest cities of my country. It’s surrounded by beautiful nature like XXXXXX Mountains, the longest and desert, what we love visiting with our family on holidays. My city is rich in history, culture and traditions, with vibrant markets and friendly people. Growing up here left huge impact on my personality, teaching me the importance of family values and appreciating different cultures, which I hope to share with you during my exchange program.
I can’t imagine all the good moments without my friends, I am a frank and open person, so it’s quite easy for me to make new friends. We enjoy playing arrive games outside, discussing favorite books and TV series and walking around the street to talk about everything in this world. My friends influence me a lot. Since we are going alongside on this life-pass we have formed the same interests and we keep each other involved in them. My friends teach me to become mature and help reveal my abilities and approach to my goals.
I also have several hobbies and interests that I’m passionate about. Biology is a subjext that has fascinated me from childhood. I really want to understand how the life works in all its forms from the smallest cells to entire ecosystems and how everything is interconnected. Drawing is another my passion. I enjoy sketching daily objects or animals and plants. Yoga is a part of my daily routine that helps me stay grounded . It not only improves my physical flexibility, but also gives me the sense of peace.
As for my futures, I aspire to become a scientist-biologist. I look forward to saving and making a positive impact on the planet. My future job is aimed to bring benefits to people and surroundings.
On my exchange year in the United States I’m hoping to make meaningful connections between my home country and the USA, as well as building lifelong friendships. I’m excited to represent my country’s culture by cooking traditional dishes, showcasing national dance, music or art forms, sharing myths and legends and so on. I hope that this experience will broaden my worldview to become a globally aware person.
I’m hoping to get to know you better, learn from you and create meaningful memories that will shape who I am for years to come.
I send you a lot of hearts from this little part of the world for considering me as a member of your family and for opening your home and hearts to me!
Warm regards,
Inna
