Dear American Family, 

I don't know anything about you, but I crave to. I'm very excited to learn about your family, traditions, culture and daily life. Until then, I would love to tell you a little about myself.

My name is Katia and I'm 16 years old. I have a big family and they mean a lot to me. We love spending time together, watching movies, cooking, going out and playing games. The most valuable moments for me are our evening conversations, where we share our stories, support each other and laugh.

I have some home responsibilities, like: cleaning my room, sweeping the floor, ironing my clothes, washing the dishes and sometimes taking out the trash or buying groceries. I think, it's important to do these tasks because it teaches teamwork, responsibilities and fulfill duties or promises.

In my free time, I love playing volleyball. I'm not perfect at it, but I enjoy improving my skills and it helps me to relax. Another passion of mine is organizing events at my school. I work in a wonderful team of school government, where we all can share our ideas. I have already started an English Speaking Club. It gives me so much inspiration and energy! Cooking, especially desserts, is another hobby of mine! I love experimenting with new recipes and sharing the results with my family or friends. Afterwards, I found reading interesting, so now I enjoy reading fantasy or crimes. Also, I can play chess online. I had been playing chess for 4 years, so I have a lot of experience in it. And sometimes I like to learn English or Italian.

Speaking of friends, I can say that I have a lot of them. We love to spent time together! We have different ways of spending time like: going for a walk, watching movies, playing games, going to the cafes or cooking. One of our favorite activities is exploring nature, especially hiking in the mountains. It's the best way to relax, talk, and appreciate the beauty outdoors.

About my city, it isn't very big but it has a lot of beauty. I love spending time in the park there or just going to the highest point and watching the sunset. The silence and comfort make this city this special. In my city I love attending different events. It's so cool to see how people can easily gather together just by one event!

There's something else I'd love to tell you for you to know about me. I'm very curious. I love learning new things, about cultures, sports and more. Also, my ability to a new society and knowing how to step out from my comfort zone will help me having an unforgettable journey to the USA. Besides, I love to communicate with people! I think it's very important to communicate, because you can always learn something new and find people with same interests, which will make your conversations even more interesting!

From my exchange experience, I would like to gain so much more than just academic knowledge. I want to immerse myself in your country. I want to build new meaningful relationships. I want to create those special moments with your family, that will always have a place in my heart. I'm looking forward to sharing about my culture with you- through food, traditions or even teaching you some phases in my language!
