Dear Host Family,

My name is Fakhri, and I am thrilled to become part of your family. I am very much looking forward to my time with you and experiencing life in the United States.
I am 16 years old and living with my family - my parents, 2 brothers and grandmother. In our family, we are very close to each other. We enjoy spending time together, be it cooking, eating out, watching movies or taking walks in the park. We always support and care for each other. I live in a vibrant and young city. It is situated on the shore of a sea. That is why going to the beach and long walks in the boulevard have always been my favorite activities. Although I have deep roots in my city, I am also eager to experience new places and cultures.

I want to tell you about my hobbies. I am passionate about music, sports and books. I love listening to music, especially the ones that blend modern and traditional styles. I also play musical instruments. I took 3 years accordion classes and play it as a hobby in my spare time. I enjoy watching and practicing sports. I enjoy watching all kinds of sports. I enjoy swimming and practicing kickboxing. Books are another hobby of mine. I enjoy reading paper and electronic books and listening to audio books. I enjoy both fiction and non-fiction.
I also would like to tell you a bit about my friends and my responsibilities at home. My friends are an important part of my life. We frequently get together for coffee or tea, studying together, cinema, playing soccer or just walking in the city. We support each other in our goals and celebrate our successes. Each of us has a unique personality, goals and interests, which helps me to be open minded. We learn a lot from each other. I am looking forward to making new friendships in the United States.

At home, I help my mother with doing the dishes and making sure the apartment is clean. I also enjoy weekend breakfasts with family and making our favorite tomato scrambled eggs. In addition, I help my little brother with his math and English homework. Our parents taught and encouraged us at an early age to participate in house work and help each other. That is why the house work always feels natural and I enjoy helping my family.

In the future, I want to pursue a career in economics and finance. My goal is to learn more and make an impact in my country's economy by becoming a finance professional and economist. I want to study in one of the top universities in the field of economics and finance. FLEX exchange program will play a cornerstone role to achieve this goal. It will help me to experience the life and economy of one of the largest economies in the world, improve my English and adapt to the challenges of living abroad.

During the exchange program, I look to grow as a person, build long-lasting relationships with my host family, experience the US and positively contribute to the community. I want to become independent and experience American culture beyond what I know from books and movies. Above all, I want to know you - my host family. I want to know your values and culture, and become part of your family.
