Dear American Family,

My name is Tatev. I am a 17-year-old girl, and I'm incredibly excited about the chance to spend time with you and experience American culture! This is my first time writing to someone I haven't met yet, but I'm thrilled to introduce myself and share a bit about my life with you. I live with my extended family, and we are very close. We spend a lot of time together by having movie nights, going somewhere, playing games or just having dinner together. Over the years, we also created some traditions that we enjoy doing. At home, we always share our responsibilities and we aren't shy to ask for help if we need it. For example, my responsibilities include going to shops with dad and helping him with shopping, or helping my mom with setting the table, making some salads, or helping with cleaning. We consider this a way to communicate with each other and spend some time.

Due to my curiosity, I have numerous hobbies, one of which is photography. I especially enjoy taking pictures of moments that are valuable to me, and then looking at those photos to remember happy times. I also like photographing nature. Now I understand why, when I was 9 years old, I chose to be Flora, the fairy of nature from Winx. I'm really addicted to the beauty of nature. But as I have mentioned I have many other hobbies, which I hope I'll have a chance to show you and also a chance to expand that list. My city is one of the reasons I like nature. It is filled with beautiful natural sights, mountains, and rivers. It is a city where you can forget about your problems and just walk through the streets admiring the beauty of buildings.

Being an active person allows me to have many friends from different fields. But today, I want to talk about a friendship that has lasted for 7 years. My two best friends are from my middle school, where we first met. Although we are no longer able to meet every day or even every week like we used to, that does not change anything. Being friends does not mean seeing each other every day; it means being there for one another, no matter the distance or time apart. We continue to stay in touch and share our love, whether through texts, phone calls, or gatherings.

Now about my profession. It was hard to choose my future career. Being involved in many things made my choice difficult. But I chose programming. You probably wonder why programming. These are the questions I asked myself when I was a 12-year-old girl: Do I like doing it? Yes.; Will it be useful in the future? Yes.; Can I do it? Yes; Will it bring me enough money to keep my family? I think yes. So I chose this, and I don't think it was a bad choice. So from that age, I decided to straighten my skills in this area, for which I'm only happy.

This experience will make me more independent, responsible, and mature. Through this journey, I hope to learn not only about your daily life, traditions, and values but also about the little things that make your family unique. I'm also eager to share Armenian culture with you. I would like to make this year with you one of the most memorable ones in my life.
Thank you for considering me.<3

With warm wishes,
Tatev
