Dear American Family,
Just a few months ago I couldn't even imagine that there will be a family across the ocean, who will become a relative to me. I am Eduard. I live in a family with five people. Father, mother, my two little brothers and I. I'm 16 years old. It is a tradition for my family to celebrate birthdays, New Year and all fests. We like to get prepared days ago, to make surprises for each other. My parents do everything to make us happy. My father works as a logistic specialist, my mother is a housewife and an English language specialist. My parents have got good education and they value it very much. We like to spend time together, in the evenings, we often go out for a walk or have dinner outside. We also go to a gym all together once or twice a week. Sometimes we go to a cinema or watch movie at home on Friday evenings. It is very typical for my family to spend time with friends. We like to go somewhere with friends to have a rest, to drink coffee or tea in a cafe. We also like travelling. Once a year we travel to discover other countries. My parents work hard but they also value rest.
Every day I take my little brother to his school bus, as it stays on the other side of the street. My classes start at 8:30am. My school has Physics and Mathematics focus. I come back home at 4pm, do shopping on my way if necessary, have dinner, rest a little, then go out to take my brother from his school bus. I have English lessons twice a week. At home I do my lessons, play PS with my brothers, sometimes we play table games, sometimes chess. My brother plays the piano, I also like to play, though I never took piano lessons. Playing the piano is a new interest for me. I like to listen to music, especially American rap.
On weekends we go to our village, my parents are from that village and we have a house there. We have a large house and a big garden there with different trees, mainly walnut, hazelnut, quince and cherry trees. I help my father with the garden, to gather the harvest. We often host our friends there. We go to pick mushrooms, to hike, visit ancient churches, as they are many in our region. Then I help my father to make barbeque for our guests. We have table tennis in our house and we organize competitions. My father, uncle and I are in the top three. On Sunday evening we come back to our routine life, to the streets full of traffic jams, cafes full of tourists, nice buildings, evening lights. I like both, my life in the village and my life in the city. I have many friend in the village, with whom I ride bicycle, play football (soccer), go hiking. In the city my friends are mainly my schoolmates. We often go to a cinema, or go for a walk in the evenings, we like to sit in a cafe to drink a cup of tea.
I have many plans for future but my main goal is to create a logistic company, because nowadays its in-demand and profitable. I hope that I'll have the opportunity to know America and Americans better, to find out the differences of American and Armenian culture, to discover American life up close and to share it with my friends after coming back. Thank you for choosing me.
Sincerely,
Eduard
