Dear American Family, 

Hello from the other side of the world. I hope you're doing well. I am really happy writing this letter to you right now. My name is Zofia, I'm from Poland and I'm 17 years old. I live in a small city, near the Baltic Sea. Even though it's small, it's an amazing city with wonderful people and an interesting history. I'm an only child, who lives together with my mom and my dad.

Despite of the fact that we are a small family, we have lots of fun together. My parents and I love to go out for walks in the nature and spend our time actively. We also love traveling and exploring new places. But, we also enjoy playing board games together on the weekends or watching some movies on Saturday evenings. And yes, we also have some fights or difficulties sometimes, but we always work it out, because we love and care about each other. My family also has a big impact on my life, helping me improve and become a better person.

At home, I wash the dishes almost every day and vacuum my room once a week. Now I'm going to tell you a little about my interests, which mean a lot to me. I love any type of sports, singing (or music in general), and crafty stuff, like drawing or scrapbooking. I also love animals, that's why I love volunteering at the shelter. There, I take dogs for walks, wash them and play with them. These activities are a big part of my life and they make me, me.

But there are also activities that I love to do, because I do them with my friends. We are a group of four and I'm so grateful to have them. My friends and I like going out to the cinema, going shopping or having picnics while talking about everything. Time spent with my friends is precious to me, because they mean the world to me. They are always there for me and always put a smile on my face. I also have lovely friends who live in Germany, because I had lived there for 10 years before we moved back to Poland in August 2023. I always make sure to stay in touch with them and try to call them once in a while.

After finishing school, my goal is to become a flight attendant. I've always been interested in aviation and wanted to do something associated with it. But I also want to study English, or any other languages, at university, because I love learning languages. I want to become someone's inspiration and hopefully make this world better. I hope that my exchange year will help me deepen my knowledge about the American history and culture, as well as show me the typical life of Americans. I would like to gain experience, that will help me improve my skills and develop as a person.

Dear family, thank you for reading my letter. You are the one that makes a students exchange year a memorable experience. I am sure that we are going to have a great time together and I can't wait to meet you.
