Dear American Family,
Hello! I am Marius, and I cannot begin to say how overjoyed I am to be joining your family for the 2025-2026 school year! I feel incredibly honored to have this opportunity to learn from you and to experience life in your home. I have always been very interested in American culture, and now I get to immerse myself in it. In Moldova, I really enjoy being with my family. We often go together to the great outdoors. One of my favorite activities with them is fishing. For me, it's not just about catching fish but about enjoying the calm of being by the water and having good conversations. I also cherish sharing meals with my family-any time we gather together around the table is special to me. Every weekend, we venture into new corners of Moldova to seek out their beauty and history. Each time, we uncover something that makes us appreciate this land even more. I only wish you could join us, because the local traditions and significant places we visit would mean something special to you and your family. Once the exploration is over and we're back home, I help out with chores like washing dishes and cooking. I really don't mind at all, because that just adds to the feeling of warmth and welcome here. But the most important part of my contribution is taking care of my younger sisters. I love that, too, and I suppose it's a pretty easy job since all I have to do is play with them and help them with their arts and crafts.
I have several pastimes that occupy my time and give me a sense of contentment. I like being active and enjoy going to the gym, but a considerable part of my life revolves around taekwondo. Taekwondo teaches me discipline and focus. Competing in taekwondo has shown me the value of hard work. I've won some awards in this martial art, which motivates me to keep going and push myself even more. Another pastime I have is playing chess. I adore the challenge and the mental workout it gives me. Being a part of a chess school enables me to compete and learn from my peers who are equally interested in this game.
While I do have a couple of close friends, I prefer quieter evenings with a good book or watching movies over parties. I think it's nice to nurture a few deep friendships rather than spread myself too thin. I enjoy helping friends with projects when they need support.
One of my favorite things to do is take long walks around my hometown. It's a place that's always changing, with new buildings and renovations happening everywhere. Even though our city has its challenges, it's working hard to improve, and I love being part of that journey. My parents hope I'll become an electrical engineer so we can build a solar energy farm together. I appreciate their dreams and the hard work they put into supporting me. However, I'm passionate about becoming a bioengineer, focusing on genetic engineering. I find the science behind genetics fascinating, and I'd love to contribute to innovations that help people. Thankfully, my parents are supportive of my dreams.
If I have the chance to stay with you, I want you to know that I'm just a regular guy. I don't need anything extravagant to be happy-just a bit of attention and the chance to feel like part of the family. I'm really looking forward to sharing meals and stories with you.
Sincerely,
Marius
